Rx7 is a fully chopped, gutted and fabricated race car with no design constraints at all. The TT RS has some solid engine work on a standard platform. Massive respect that the TT to still be able to win when it is so mild by comparison. Amazing car, and massively impressive standard platform!!!!

Maybe the turbo muffled the sound a bit but a lot of people would agree that this car plus the 787b since you brought it up sound very similar to a extremely high revving(12k+rpm) inline 4/flat plane v8. Also the 20b piston equivalent would be a high revving inline 6(e.g. honda rc166) even some inline 3s are comparable for example there's a Kawasaki(don't remember the bike model) that sounds similar to the 3 rotor. So no this car doesn't have the same engine note as a furai/20b.
