Ian was a fabulous guitarist and should have had more recognition for his talent. The fact that I only found out about his death today, proves how underated he was. I've been raving about his solo's with Alan Parsons for many years and he will be sorely missed.

Such a distinctive sound and a fabulous player. Bought a PRS eg4 in the 90's due to Ian playing the exact model on Beverley cravens 'Blind Faith' (live Birmingham symphony hall 1992)... who wouldn't want to sound like this....still play it and it reminds me of Ian...

I knew Ian when he lived in Pilrig, Edinburgh, before he became famous. I remember singing Hank Williams' songs and Ian backing me on guitar one night at a party. He was around 15 at the time, I was about 17. Great memories! 🙂

I just found out today. I'm gutted. My favorite guitar player of all time. Ian is gone, but I'll be enjoying his playing until I'm gone. Such a gift that he had, and all of those wonderful recordings that we still have.
