What is your pick for the most “unhinged” NASCAR race?
@isparky42i10 ай бұрын
For me, as long as I lived, I feel that the Hail Melon one felt crazy and unbelievable, because of crazy that one was, and maybe possibly the 2015 Martinsville fall race, because of so much that went on, and feel there should be a deep rewind of that weekend.

Brian Vickers is the most strangest and odd driver of the 2000’s. One random chase appearance. 3 out of no where wins. Random spats and fights. Heart problems in 2015 that made him miss most of the season. Wife being involved with Epstein and never hearing a word about him since. To me everything about him is just very weird and strange

One of Jeff Gordon's downfalls was the fact that yellow flags would plague the modern era compared to his golden era. Gordon thrived under long green flag runs and knew how to save tires better than the rest of the field, but the high frequency of cautions would not suit his driving style. He truly was a driver of the times and the current system of breeding cautions would unwind much further success.

The most unhinged nascar race is the 2007 Memphis Busch race-25 cautions and a race that lasted a little over 3 and a half hours. I don’t think any NASCAR Xfinity Series race since then has ever had more than 20 cautions alone and lasted as long as this race. That year’s eventual series champion Carl Edwards had a rough outing that race and had to wait until the following week at Texas to wrap up the Busch title and David Reutimann racked up his only win in that series.

Meanwhile on other side of the world earlier on the same day, F1 was having their first ever race in India (a race that almost didn't happen due to the teams refusing to have a portion of their race winnings taxed by the Indian government & the Indian government rejecting the visa applications of a few drivers & crew members including Nico Rosberg). As for the race itself, it was dominated by Sebastian Vettel who led from start to finish with the only major incident being a collision between Lewis Hamilton & Felipe Massa that resulted in a drive thru penalty for Massa. This was the 4th time that season that they collided while trying to pass each other.

This to me will always be Tony Stewart's best win. First, Homestead only happened because this happened first. I can't think of any other Tony Stewart win where he was junk for half of it, raced his ass off to avoid going a lap down (he usually always just lets them go). He keeps the lap. They improve the car. He uses some strategy but still has the speed and makes the outside work on the restart against Johnson. Literally, no other Tony Stewart win at the races halfway mark would've looked less likely than this one here. Homestead is an extremely close 2nd for me but the speed he had there was clear from the drop of the green whereas at Martinsville it was not.
