Ministry-Friend of the Devil (live 1994)

This is a very rare live recording of Ministry performing a cover of the Grateful Dead's "Friend of the Devil" at a charity gig called "The Bridge School Benefit" which was in aid of children with severe physical and mental disabilities.
Other performers included Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Beck and Alanis Morissette.
It's totally unlike anything else Ministry has done and proves without a doubt that Al Jourgensen has quite a good voice underneath all the usual shouting and vocal distortion.
Also I want to give a big FUCK YOU to Warner Bros. who tried to remove this video for copyright.

I really like his clean voice and playing here and you can really see his articulate finger picking. Wish they made more music like this.You can really see and hear that Ministry are talented musicians who can play music other than industrial and what later they evolved into basically a death metal band.

Understand why many are astonished @Al's great voice but I wuz graced by his awesome vocals since the early days of WaxTrax! & synth-pop Ministry...so yes, it's refreshing yet not surprising to me in the least. He could still sing like this & may actually surprise us on nu Ministry or Trent Reznor side project he has in da worx~

Uncle Al & his cronies have innovated and mastered the genres of synth pop, nuwave, industrial goth pop, house music, alternative rock, country-core, hardcore punk, industrial metal & thrashy goth metal ~and yes he & his pals have flirted w/death metal as well. I don't know the Grateful dead song but a bunch of pot heads wanting slow music makes me laugh. I imagine i'd hate the original version. To me this is slow. Listen to some ministry and you'll see what i mean.
