I’ve always admired guerrilla tactics. It demonstrates just how effective a smaller force can be against a larger enemy. And the enemy never being able to see it coming as said smaller force vanishes into thin air. The more the conventional force takes, the higher chances of it being demoralized to breaking point. All while the irregulars grow stronger with the free equipment gathered. It plays most commonly with rebellions as the increased guerrilla actions can bring the populace to their side; into total revolution. Sun Tzu, your genius surpassed your own time.

It’s funny how this type of warfare seems to work against far more superior opponents. An example is the USA. And hey, if you’re military strength is inferior, it’s the only option you got. You fight face to face you’ll be done. During the American revolution the British were a world power. The Americans used guerrilla tactics and gained independence forming the USA. 200 years later the Vietnamese would use guerrilla against America, a world power, and managed to unite Vietnam.
@wowbruh25115 жыл бұрын

@@trashaimgamer7822 not necessarily, it is much much easier to do guerrilla warfare at home because your troops would know the land and terrain better and you would have more control and time to build tunnel networks, secret pathways in the woods, hidden weapons plants etc. and you have constant access to towns and cities that are yours to reinforce from, but it is not impossible to do guerrilla invasion, Normandy is an exceptional example of this, but even that was invading occupied allied lands with the populations' support, probably the closest example of this kind of invasion strategy would be the Japanese tactics that combined siege warfare with blitzkrieg to rapidly take mostly defenseless islands and colonies and then quickly fortify them to hold with guerrilla tactics, but this eventually failed due to lack of weapons infrastructure and reinforcements.

The minutemen despite their effectiveness were actually an incredibly small part of the overall American army, which did use traditional warfare like the British. And they were known for being extremely difficult as well because they normally weren't paid or properly enlisted. Which meant they sometimes 'deserted' and simply left when they felt like it, or when they refused to fight when too far away from home. And don't forget when the British routed, they were followed the whole time without putting up major resistance. Often, most of the casualties in battle are actually during the route.

KLA Kosovo Liberation Army(Ethnic Albanians) was a guerilla group who fought yougoslavic regime for about 10 years, they were so strong headed and strong fighters but primitive armored. There are battles who were 2000 serbian (yougoslav) organized advanced military vs 150 KLA fighters where the KLA guerillas won the battle with tactics and there are facts told by KLA soldiers itself, but in the otherside serbia still on their war comand reports has as writted from their soldiers that there were more than 4000 KLA fighters because its impossible 150 to fight that hardly against them, and they dont believe that to this day! Thats the heart of a organized guerilla by the people and the die or live free spirit

Good to think about i don’t know but i think that guerrilla war does not work when there it a land border it becomes difficult because of the ease of access think gaul from roman times yes won a few battles but they have to protect towns and people or morale tanks 6:13

The Finnish defence forces doctrine is largely based on guerrilla warfare despite being a modern armed force. Guerrilla tactics were used heavily on ww2 also against overwhelming enemy, successfully. As a small nation, Finland's only reasonable means of defence is guerrilla tactics and using terrain, weather, etc. to it's advantage.

When you realise that France had the most guerrilla fighters during WW2
@Pajdas6104 жыл бұрын
French had about 400,000 men and women by 1945. Yugoslav partisans had over 800,000 by 1945. It is called "the most effective anti-Axis resistance movement during World War II in Europe" for a reason. Yugoslavia was one of only two European countries that were mostly liberated by their own forces.
