@kashmire05 Жыл бұрын
As a Colombian, my parents would say that his "generosity" to his country was purely superficial and to get the country on his side. Pablo Escobar was a psychopath. When the people in Colombia realized he was not an honest man and when he stopped getting what he wanted all the time from them, he bombed and burned down all the towns and neighbourhoods he used to help. To threaten the same country he "loved" and ran for president from standing in his way again. You can see in history from everyone in Colombian media praising him as a Medellin Robin Hood to everyone hating him and fearing their lives because he was in town. He bought his support from everyone. You can't call him generous, he was just plain cruel.

It’s hard to compare both, Escobar empired when technology was lower (can’t argue that) and not much DEA officials. Chapo was on the run longer and still managed to push drugs after 9/11 post security + higher number DEA agents after him, but he didn’t make as much money as Pablo. In my opinion Chapo was a lot smarter but Pablo had higher advantage. But many will only see what Netflix and Instagram post show them.
