Another thing that works for hair dye is KOOLAID juice crystals. It works the same as the tissue paper idea. Thats how us 90's kids used to dye our hair :)

We've been in lockdown 3 weeks today and I feel absolutely insane now. Am introverted, but feel like I want to go out and be social (would not do that currently of course!). I went to attempt this and I put my dark blue tissue paper into the hot water but the colour didn’t come out. It was just clear water. I still put my hair in to see if it would work and it didn’t. (It was boiling water from a kettle and a bit of salt and I let the tissue paper sit for a bit). What did I do wrong or is this fake?

Hey Sarah! I just wanted to let you know that most color hair dye you buy at the pharmacy/wellness shop (or even online bc of covid) would be much healthier to use on your hair, the tissue paper dye worries me if you're going to do your whole entire head just because it is used to dye paper.. so if it runs on your skin, clothes, towels, or sheets it may be a mess!
