Argost is, in the grand scheme of cartoons, an underrated villain. "Dear lady, would anyone ever visit the circus if they didn't secretly hope to see the lions eat somebody?" He doesn't get to fully shine in this crossover, though. Mainly because he's got a new monster body and is more of a physical threat than an intellectual one like he usually is.

I think the problem with this is that that Ben 10 Omniverse aired after Stuart Snyder's departure from the network so which means that it was less advertisement on action shows more geared towards comedy shows

Mostly because I know I watched this episode and I had dropped Ben 10 at this point so I wouldn't have a reason to watch it otherwise. I watched the Secret Saturdays a bit when I was younger. But completely re-binged it in preparation for this episode. I absolutely loved it, and though I thought the crossover was fine, I much prefer the original depictions of the Saturdays. The original had a very 80s adventure cartoon aesthetic, and I love that about it. I also find it really cool how both shows were always meant to be in the same world, and I am disappointed they never revisited them. Also, I do actually remember seeing a promo for this episode. I don't think it was for this episode specifically, I think it was clips from two or three new episodes at the time, and the crossover was heavily featured. I also remember them never mentioning that it was a crossover. At that time I hadn't thought about the original show in years, and my exact thoughts were, "Those guys are back?"

I think the nanites were dormant, since the Omnitrix's failsafe protocols prevent the micro-machines from tampering with Ben's fragile DNA, but over time, they eventually developed a connection. In my headcanon, I think the Omnitrix was regulating the Nanites in order to carry out its intended function(i.e. heal cells, regenerate tissues, strengthen muscles, etc.)

This crossover doesn't do it any justice but it was nice that they remembered once again. It's one of my favorite series and it deserves another chance.

I actually watched the Secret Saturdays a bit as a kid. I remember having nightmares from the episode where that guy can turn you to sand or stone by touching you. And I remember the finale to season 1 where it was revealed Zack was Kur. But then I didn’t get to see a lot of the show after since scheduling was hard back then. Hearing what happens after I might have to check it out again. Sounds really cool and interesting overall. But yeah even my limited knowledge of this show from childhood leads me to thinking this ep is so off. Also since I really must say the weapons got the short end of the stick. To this day the main three type of weapons aka the fire sword, the battle gloves, and especially Zack’s staff where all so cool and really creative weapons for an action cartoon. So seeing them be so lame in Omiverse which usually thrives on its action and animation above all other seasons, it’s just sad.

This episode is glass half full / half empty in regards to the Secret Saturdays, you could see it as a "They Changed It, Now It Sucks!" or as one last adventure after the end of their show. To me as someone that whanched the SS and like it, but was more of a B10 fan, i am fine with the changes, some of them like clothes, technology even the personalities could be explained as happening offscreen in the 3 years time skip, in regards of the artstyle i like when the guest characters change style to match the host show (Ben in Gen Rex HU, Rex in B10 Reboot or Ben in OkKO), regarding the voice cast, is a shame they changed most of them, but that isn't a problem in the LatAm Dub since they keep all the original voices so the characters sound just like themselves. Overall i like the episode.

The Secret Saturdays was an awesome cartoon. The whole show just seemed cool to me which was fitting because I was huge into cryptozoology, as well as just being big into animals in general. Admittedly, I didn't see too much of the show during its run, but I do remember catching an episode here and there, the Monday episodes being my favorites as well as some of the first I've ever seen of the show. It's honestly a shame how poor this crossover does, especially when compared with Heroes United. I myself wasn't a big fan of both series sharing the same universe and I honestly wished they were from different universes, when it would make the most sense to do so because the show is literally called "omniverse". They really could have done something with Ben and Zak by combining alien power with cryptid power, similarly with Ben using Upgrade to power-up Rex's Nanites. I feel like something could've been done to make this work and to explain The Secret Saturdays without spoiling much of the show, let alone the ending while still giving people enough reason to see that this was A: An entirely separate series with its own lore and world-building, and B: Give a feel to what the Saturdays are and show them at their absolute best. I was really surprised when I found out this crossover existed, and I remember not watching or liking much of it, mainly because it looked like Fisk was just being a dick to Ben for no good reason, which I guess is still true here. All in all, this could've been handled a lot better. It's not the worse of a crossover, but it definitely can serve as an example of what not to do when making them. On a side note, it's kinda fitting that this episode dropped today and not just because it's Saturday either. I went to the first ever "Zoo Con", and actually got to meet with Alan himself: Zeno Robinson, along with many other talented voice actors such as Kent Williams, Kira Buckland, and even Frieza herself/himself, the legendary Linda Young. It was a blast.

Like there’s a part in the vid that shows a clip of Doc and the mom interacting and he looks at her magic tech and asks what it does. Idk I think it would’ve shown some agency for this team if by this point, after everything they’ve gone through, Doc just intuitively knows some magic artifacts his wife knows and vice versa. To show that time has progressed and these characters have grown

I've always wondered why the Omnitrix never scanned any of the cryptids encountered in this episode. Like, even if Myaxx some how never found a cryptid on her DNA collecting mission, the Omnitrix should've scanned one of the cryptids during this episode. They should be considered sentient enough for the Omnitrix, shouldn't they?

Kur's power to control them might be magical, but the thing that power anchors to could be purely biological. Like if someone had the magic power to control all water, it wouldn't mean the water was magical in nature, it would just mean that something in water's physical properties is susceptible to the controllers powers. You could be right, and cryptids could be magical in nature, I'm just saying there is an equal chance of them being non-magical.

Secret Saturdays is such an underrated classic. It's such a great callback to the pulpy adventure stories like Johnny Quest. I also really appreciate how it introduced so a bunch of kids to cryptids most of us never heard of, as well as Sumerian mythology. Argost was also such an awesome villain, and Corey Burton knocks it out of the park. This line from him is epic: "Would anyone go to the circus without secretly hoping the lions would eat somebody?"

When I first saw the ads (The Weird World fakeout ones), my 12 year old self was a bit intrigued. But once the true ads started airing, I was instantly hooked. And a large part of that is definitely with the Johnny Quest, similarity.😊 Also, almost every line from Argost was quite iconic. But that line is indeed up there. Such a suave, charismatic personality. Which is merely a facade, masking a bloodthirsty beast.
