Wow...sounds like my parents. I was 38 when my parents divorced after 40 years of marriage. It tore the whole family apart....smh. It has been 20 years now. My dad had remarried and was still with his wife when he told me on his dying bed to tell my mom that he never stopped loving her. He actually wanted to tell her himself but my mom still being bitter didn't rush to see him even though she knew Hospice had given him limited days. She did come a day too late and by then he was unconscious. This was in 2017 and typing this still brings tears to my eyes.

I firmly believe that once people experience unconditional love, they are forever bonded. Although your mom did not get to hear your dad say those words to her, I’m sure she feels it and knows the love he has for her. Much love and blessings to your family. 💕

My parents separated right as I moved back home after college. I think my dad felt less guilty about leaving my mom with me being home with her. It was tough seeing my mom lonely, sad and depressed. She got better in time and found peace without my dad. They divorced, and then my dad regretted everything. He begged her for months to take him back, even trying to involve me in some of his antics. 🙄 My mom eventually took him back and they got remarried. Hey, if they like it, I love it, lol.

I’m so sorry Vaughn. My therapist told me that no matter how amicable a divorce can be that there is still bound to be pain. She describes marriage as being two pieces of paper glued together. No matter the reason trying to tear those pieces of paper apart will cause rips and tears. It is so okay to be grieving and processing the fact that your parents are no longer together.

My parents aren't divorced, but they did what I call a ghetto divorce. That's when 1 person leaves the house and never come back. My dad left my mom when I was 25 yrs old. I was happy, because it was a toxic relationship growing up. They still care for each other, they just can't live together. I will continue to love them both and I have a good relationship with them both.

I knew a couple in my assisted living that had this type of arrangement! They lived in separate units but were still married. I understood why they did that after having them both as patients. They still had pictures of each other in their homes but knew it was a toxic relationship.

My dad died of a heart attack in the middle of his divorce with my mom. They were married for 20 years. It was an extremely traumatic experience for me. I had gone from never ever ever ever even hearing them raise their voices at each other to them being in physical fights. I got caught in the middle because both parents put pressure on me to choose who I wanted to live with. Whichever parent I chose would get the house as well as child support. I chose my mom and was removed from my dad's will as a result. Extended and immediate family took sides. I havent spoken to several aunts, uncles and my half brother since the funeral 20 years ago. It was a lot. I'm glad your family's situation was more peaceful.

@@Mini-rt8bm It was a tough decision because it was the summer right before my senior year. I was like why couldn't this have happened a year from now lol. My parents divorced when I was about 2 or 3 then they remarried when I was about 17, then they divorced again when I was about 28...they remained the best of friends even after my dad married some one else. They talked just about everyday until my mom passed into January. My husband and I got married at 21 years old and we will be celebrating 30 years married in February of 2022. The thing that I learned from my parent's relationship is the importance of friendship between husband and wife. My prayers to your family that you all can get close again and celebrate holidays and things with both your mom and dad.

My parents were married for 53 years before her death. So fortunately I didn’t have to experience that. I, myself however got divorced after 10 years and it has destroyed my views on marriage. I mean I still believe that a marriage can work as long as two people are willing to work together and love and support each other but that is truly hard to find.

My Dad and StepMom separated when I was 13 and divorced towards the ending of high school. I didn’t live with them, but she was a great StepMom and we still have a relationship. I won’t lie, it was awkward in the beginning when she remarried and had another Son, especially thinking those life changes would hurt my Dad. When that relationship ended he was still there to support her... helping financially, completing home repairs. For our milestones, graduations, showers etc... all of our parents are there and it’s okay, everyone are adults about their situations and get along, especially for the kids(adult kids) :)

When my former school friend's parents divorced, I recall her being quite unhappy about it, and me hoping it was my parents. I use to beg my mother for us to leave. I tried to convince her that we could get an apartment together. I was a daddy's girl, but the fights and the horrible names they called each other were too much for me. One morning, I really called the cops on them. I'd had enough of it. My mother, on the other hand, never left. That is, in fact, how I grew up. It's so much better for the entire household to leave; if you can.

I agree. If the relationship effects the kids, the parents either need to step back and change how they conduct themselves or leave. I get the parents may be on with staying, but it’s not fair to the kids.

I’m always here for any content you post. If you post the camping trip, I will watch. Regarding the divorce situation. My mom amen her husband were married for 30 years and divorced last summer. I didn’t think it would affect me but it did. It’s weird. Even tho it isn’t my marriage, it’s what I was used to. We don’t have the elements to consider that you mentioned (kids, family functions, etc. ) so I imagine it’s even harder. However, other couples divorcing does not change my outlook on marriage. I try to learn from what I observe and apply what I need to for my own marriage to be and remain healthy.

Wow. Im praying for you on the matter of your parents. My parents divorced after 30 years. It is really hard. No one talks about grown children parents divorce. My parents are actually friends and it still was hard because that's all we knew. It's devastating to say the least. Your whole world changes and depending on the reason for the divorce it definitely takes some processing

Yes, I just went glamping with Tenter a few weeks ago!! It was super cool! My parents divorced when I was 5. It has been harder on me as I’ve gotten older especially since he died when I was 21. His family hasn’t really been very welcoming so I feel like I only have my mom’s side. I’ve talked to them about it but it hasn’t really gotten much better.

You are looking great!!! I’m back in the gym. I literally gained (Covid) 19lbs during this panorama lol. I didn’t get Covid but I did get the 19lbs ugh. I love how you and the hubby are taking control of your fitness. Love this representation in black spaces!! I love that Annie loves Earth Wind and Fire. I loved them when I was a child (and now) too. She is an old soul. I’m sure she was regal on her past life. I love your hair!!!!! My parents relationship was tumultuous so I was happy they divorced. I wanted them to separate as a child because it was so toxic. Their marriage taught me not to settle and not to stay for the children because staying in a toxic relationship is worse than separating and finding happiness within yourself.
