It's time to begin on the Ole 48. I will start by installing summit sound deadener and heat shield. Then put in the wind lace and the kick panels.

Good afternoon I recently ran into your videos accidentally and I enjoy what you do. My father and a 1948 Chevrolet and I remember that when I was just a kid and your videos bring back a lot of good memories. I was going to kind of write you off because there's so many car videos out there but at the end of your videos I noticed that you had scripture and of course I believe the same way you do and that was quite a attraction for me. It actually gives me a little relief at the end of the day so keep up the good work I'll keep watching and you have a wonderful day, Mike

Great content, as usual. I have a '48 Fleetmaster Town sedan with 56,000 original miles. I've had it for 20 years. Pretty much all factory except paint and tires. If you need reference photos just reply here.

Super happy you’re making these videos. I have a 48 coupe I’m working on redoing my interior. Mine will not be factory though. I’m going with whatever I can find

A great video. Thanks so much. There are a lot of videos out there but yours are BY FAR the most helpful. I'm currently working on a 1947 Fleetmaster and am going to be starting interior myself. I'm dreading the headliner so I'm hoping you do a video with that install. I'm missing all the tack strip across the front and am not sure how it attached there anyway, seems too thin for staples before they'd hit the steel. Anyway, please keep the videos coming!

Thanks for the kind words. A headliner video will be coming, I'm just not sure exactly when. Working on getting a door panel video sewn up (ha ha). If carpet doesn't show up I will do the headliner next. Thanks for watching!

Hi thanks for the great content. I have been enjoying the vids for a while now... I probably have 15 years or more on you.. So don't take this the wrong way... But.. Can you please be my Dad?... I missed out on all this kind of stuff. My dad couldn't change a light bulb (although he tried and made up for it in other ways). I've always been fascinated by the past and some of your videos are really a great connection with an era I didn't get to participate in. I've recently acquired a remarkably original unrestored running 1940 GMC pickup.. So now I have to figure out if it's 6V or 12V...back to your Vids I Go.. Thanks again for the content. Keep it coming! Cheers.

Not sure my wife would understand....but sure we can try it for a while. lol Anyway, real quick way to check what voltage your truck is. If it has a battery in it and has three round caps on top, that's a 6 volt battery. 4 round caps on top, that's an 8 volt battery which means they never changed the rest of the electrical system, they just put a higher voltage battery in. And I would personally change it back to a 6 volt. Now if there's no battery, pop the voltage regulator off the firewall and look over the base, you should see it stamped with 6 volt or 12 volt somewhere. Maybe can see it without taking it off but if you have to remove it label the wires.

Another great video, and perfectly timed for me! I dread removing that glued-on shingle material..... I have a question for you: about that sound-deadening stuff under the trunk skin - are you going to do anything with that? It looks like it was installed before the skin was crimped over the structure. I guess it must be left where it's trapped between the surfaces - and must be left there as you did on the roof bows....

Hey Jay. I have to replace everything in the interior of my Buick. I plan on sewing my own seats. I have to find a complete rear set. Do you have anybody in particular that you get your interior from? Your videos are really helping me with my 40 Buick. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Call or email SMS Auto Fabric, or check out there website. They offer a lot of pre-made items for classics, and have a huge selection of vintage style fabrics. I don't know if there is any particular Buick resource out there.

I have a 52 hardtop and I am trying to figure out my A pillar and where the windlace stops?. It looks like just above the dash, then under A pillar covering? Vinyl?
@TheJayhawker
@TheJayhawker Жыл бұрын
Is there not a similar steel channel on the door edge of the kick panels? I would assume that the windlace needs to go the whole way around the door. On the '48 the windlace is one long continuous piece. The A pillar was most likely covered with a piece of chipboard cut to the shape of the pillar and then fabric to match the headliner or the door panel was glued onto the chipboard and attached to the steel with fluted tacks. On the '48 I cut and sewed door panel material to the shape of the pillar because the B pillar was covered the same way, but then I glued it directly to the A pillar because it was all steel construction and had no tack strips.
