This. I was born/raised in Canada, but I've lived in the US midwest for over 30 years now. My accent started fading (according to Canadian friends) within months of moving here. It still pops "out" now and then, but it usually takes people a bit by surprise. That all changes when I get on the phone with family/friends still in Canada (southern Ontario). More than one person has commented how listening to my side of the conversation sometimes seems to devolve into a lot of "yeah, y'know" and "well that's what I was thinkin' eh?" It stops a bit short of going full Letterkenny, but there are times. :)

Haggis is a weird little animal. The left pair of legs are slightly longer than the right, that is to help them escape from their predators they can run around the slope of hills. Their predators legs are all the same length, so they cannot run around the hills easily. Black pudding is an oatmeal item which is soaked in lambs blood for about 2 weeks, then it is fried in vegetable oil - so it is only semi healthy. One item which is completely unhealthy is a deep fried Mars Bar, the Mars bar is coated in the same batter which is used to cover fish which is then deep fried. The covered Mars Bar is then deep fried in approx 1 foot of vegetable oil for 2 minutes then covered in day old newspaper and served. All foods from Scotland, if you want to know more just ask.

A foot of vegetable oil is the healthy vegan option, Beef dripping for the authentic experience!

Don Murray true, but you hardly get beef dripping anywhere except Edinburgh. Real fish'n'chip shops use vegetable oil, for two reasons - 1. Its cheeper and 2. the friers are easier to clean.

How about deep-fried pizza? That's kind of the pinnacle!! Lol 😅

@@kthuesing of you like pizza - I am allergic to the cheese, but yes. There are two types - a 'normal' deep fried pizza, but you can also get the pizza covered. In the fish batter and deep fried,. You either get the full pizza or half a pizza - I think it's a 30cm diameter (don't know what that is in inches' You need to tell the driver what type you want, covered or not. It's called either 'a half pizza supper' if you have it with chips or a full pizza supper' if it's the full pizza. These pizzas are never sliced, and you do need to cut them when you get home. As always, with everything from fish'n'chips shop theyr is a piece of brown paper covering them then that parcel is covered in yesterday's newspaper. For our American friends chips are chunks of potato fries - like the things you get at Macdonald's but thicker, larger and nicer.

*Serious Hat On* Black Pudding can be pork blood, and usually is in fact. Haggis really should be lamb, anything else is just a cheap, fat sausage. I’m looking at you Lidl with your crappy, crappy, crappy “pork haggis”. If I served that on Burns Night my guests would never forgive me. *Serious hat off again* sonichits.com/video/Peter_Sellers/The_Haggis_Season
