I was wishing someone would react to a song by a real oldie but goodie, but there is only one reaction to this song on all of you tube. I love the way you react because you can tell that you do not listen to the song before you react like most people on you tube do. So the song will make you dance in your chair. I loved her way back when and her name is Teena Marie and the song is "Square Biz". Please react to it. Pretty please with sugar on top and a cherry. @06:55 Not only is he an amazing singer and guitarist, he is also a great songwriter. He actually wrote several number one songs for other artists before he started out on his own (at his wife's urging, who is also an amazing singer, she sings backup on many of his songs, but if you want to hear them together at their best, look up the album version of them singing You Are My Sunshine, where she takes the lead). The trifecta in music is such a rare feat and he owns it. Truly a once in a generation talent.

I love me some Chris Stapleton. Understand, he's a blues artist in a country package. Blues and country are similar writing style. Musically blues uses sadder tones and country uses brighter tones for more upbeat vibes. Chris talks about listening to Freddie King all the time as his guitar inspiration. Freddie King was a stone cold blues performer.

His live version is better than the studio version, which i's rare. There is no extended guitar solo in the studio version. For a tune that really sticks in your head by him, try "What Are You Listening To" , another live performance kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJnRfoaMl5Wij6M and for a purely evocative song, and Chris Stapleton's favorite that he has ever written, listen to "Death Row". Since you were wondering about Chris, his claim to fame really is song writing. He has written for everyone before he broke out big time in 2015 with a performance at the CMA awards of "Tennessee Whiskey" and "Drink You Away" with his frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake. You can watch this performance here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIuqaWWfprVjbKM, you will be amazed.

I know I am late to the game on comments, but let me chime in. This is not typical country music, it is a blend of the sounds in the Muscle Shoals area, You hear hints of Muddy waters, Etta James, Clapton, Prince, and many more ghosts walking through the guitar and his vocals. The birth of Jazz, The re-shaping of soul, and the impact of the field workers. If you love music, watch the documentary "the shoals"

Not much other country will stand up to this man. You have listened to his blues and soul music. He has some more like death row. He is fantastic, only thing comparable in my world is Stevie Ray Vaughan and ZZ Top. Try waiting on the bus/ JESUS just left Chicago and little wing.

Why would you want to put him in a category? You can't, he has so many different styles. Blues, rock, soul, some country, some pop. You can't just stick him in a country box and say job done. Watch him do What Are You Listening To a try and tell us what you think or maybe Death Row.

There is a lot of great Music out there. You just have to find it. Everyone says Chris has no real Genre, including me, but, he more or less falls under Country Soul/Blues if you need a category. Kinda like the sub-genre of Blue Eyed Soul from the '60's. You really want to see just how good he really is check out This is a Man's World and understand going in, it was a completely Impromptu performance. That's not his Band. Watch the guitar player's face the second time because the first viewing, you won't be able to concentrate.
