Just so weird to see you in Hawaii with snow around you. The views are breath taking. You are one lucky man!

This video is definitely one of my favorites of yours. Your presenting voice is awesome, and you are so wonderful for being able to climb to the summit.

That’s nice. I could only get up to 9,000 feet when I toured this volcano, and the highest elevation I had ever stood on was only 12,000 feet in Cusco. Haleakala was the highest I had ever been in at Hawaii.

Hey man! of course I was the first like of this video, so i gotta get pinned. anyways, I've been the hawaii 3 times, and it really is an amazing place!! I've actually been to the Kona Brewing Co. (and all the airports you went to, too ;) ) and I gotta say it is so good! Thanks for showing us the hike to the summit! I went to...Haleakala a few years back and drove to that (during the day)! It is crazy in hawaii how the majority of all the islands are 70F and sunny, then you go through the clouds and get on the mountain/volcano! Thanks for showing the Mauna Loa on the Big Island! It looks much taller than Haleakala, but i saw that both have NASA telescopes on the top! I learned that some of the black hole images and some of the best star pictures from space ever were from those telescopes! amazing! anyways, I just want to say you make amazing content, and thanks for being a great KZbinr!

Awesome! We’re headed to Hawaii in October! Did you know from it’s underwater base Mauna Kea is the highest mountain on earth over 30,000 feet!!

Pretty amazing place. Does this mean you are a state high pointer now??

We went to the top of the volcano in Maui where it was a little over 10,000 high.. You are lucky - you experienced Hawaii snow!

Not a fair comparison but I've been to Mt Lemmon in Tucson AZ--you can drive a two-lane road from the hot, deserty Tucson area to the top where there are green-leafed trees and pine forests and the temp is about 30 degrees cooler--you can pretend you're in Colorado or any other state that boasts pine forests and chilly temps--one can get spectacular views of the desert far below with a visual range up to 30 miles--was able to locate D-M AFB and Tucson Int'l using my sister's binoculars--no need for 4WD though, not required--the snow on Mauna Kea of course you're no stranger to, being from Pittsburgh.
