Cleopatra Loses Netflix $2 Billion In Egypt Lawsuit

Netflix's Cleopatra documentary was ridiculed all over the internet a few months ago, but now Netflix is in a lawsuit with Egypt which may lose them $2 billion and possibly even more due to lawyer and court fee's which in a case this big will add up. However it begs a bigger question which is why Hollywood have to market every show and movie with a political spin rather than with quality of story.

Cleopatra was Greek according to history. When Alexander the Great's generals divided up the areas Alexander had conquered, Ptolemy got the land of Egypt and surrounding areas. I read a biography of Cleopatra not too long ago. She was not a notable beauty, but was well-educated, charming, seductive, and intelligent. She came from a Macedonian family, descended from one of Alexander the Great's generals, which had been very inbred for several generations. The family (Ptolemies) was notable for killing close relatives in order to gain the throne. Cleopatra herself was forced to marry her younger brother, whom she later went to war with, and he ended up slain in battle. She seduced and had children with the Roman generals Julius Caesar and Mark Antony in order to gain power and to survive her siblings' plots. She probably fell in love with Marc Antony and they married. They both committed suicide when they lost the war against the first Roman emperor, Augustus, whose sister was Mark Antony's former wife, Octavia. Octavia later raised Marc Antony's children by Cleopatra.

Until DNA testing became affordable many American Blacks believed they had Native American in them. Same issue, their parents and grandparents had told them so. I remember KZbin being flooded by videos of these people getting their Ancestry results to find out they were 0% Native American and more often than not, part White. Not everything you’re family says is true. In reality their ancestors didn’t want to admit that their skin was lighter because they had White in them. Or their features were different than most Africans for the same reason. Native Americans we’re an acceptable scape goat since they obviously weren’t plantation and slaves owners. Ancestors of Black slaves don’t have any family records though (none going back to their African roots and most not even any of their family in America before the civil war), so most of the time they really didn’t know their origins. This Cleopatra thing is different though. It is very well documented and proven historical fact that she was Greek. Nobody questions that Mark Antony was Roman! What baffles me most though, is why not really claim their own heritage? There were and are amazing sub Saharan African cultures. The Kushites built more pyramids than the Egyptians. They were a powerful nation that even took over Egypt for a short period of time. Their surviving artwork and statues show them looking Black. Not really, you should know the radical far Left cannot be bothered with historical accuracy or anything that impedes their view of the world. They have been re-writing our textbooks for decades, successfully influencing generation after generation with their version of events. Young minds are the most vulnerable, easily influenced and molded during their formative years. The far Left has control of the teacher's unions and the public schools. @@annihilator2188 What do you even mean by black? They made Cleopatra mixed-race, which isn't that unlikely given the real history of people migrating from Nubia into Egypt. The Nubians did conquer and rule Egypt at one point. We know that Cleopatra's father was a Ptolemy but we don't know anything about her mother. Racial purity wasn't a thing because the concept of race as it is understood today did not exist then. Realistically, kings had concubines of different backgrounds. It's far worse when we see Jesus portrayed as a blonde, blue-eyed Scandinavian or the rest of the ancient Israelites portrayed by northern Europeans who look nothing like the indigenous people of the region. The Mizrahi Jews who did not migrate to Europe sure heck weren't considered white by the Ashkenazi Jews who founded modern Israel.

The Ptolemy’s were so ethnocentric about their own background (being Greek/macedonian), that in the entire history of their family ruling Egypt (275 years), they refused to learn the native language of ancient Egyptian. They instead opted to have scribes and native Egyptians who served under them as translators. This is how proud they were of their Greek/macedonin heritage to the point of looking down on their adopted countrie’s ‘commoners’

@@ryanrodrigues6127 the sibling marriages were actually the one thing they did adopt from Egypt. Pharaos were seen as more god than human and as such they would not dilute the bloodline with commoner blood. The Greeks were rather weirded out by the whole thing.
