Good job, guys. Last I heard in June, they're thinking of turning these buildings into apartments.

Glad that there were no injuries to anyone related to this incident, when I was a volunteer firefighter, we went to a fire in a vacancy commercial building and it had been starting the same way as you mentioned. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

They can be so dangerous because you don't know what is in them, you don't know how structurally sound they are, and many safeties are disconnected or off.

@@thejfrd2490 so true, they would have had no idea or way of knowing what was inside the building.

Awesome video. So happy no injuries. Its sad to see buildings left vacant for years just to have firefighters risk their lives to put fires out due to being left empty like that. Great job by all the responders...🤗🤗

Safety Point, FF on turntable should be dressed for duty. If Ventman going in window got into trouble the closest help is not ready. Always expect the worst. Great shot of dangers of venting windows and safety-man watching out for the brothers. Hopefully, though I did not see any, search ropes are a must in large floor area buildings. BIG BAD, guys under windows changing bottles and taking a break. "Sidewalk area" is always a danger zone and off-limits unless you are operating. Just imagine someone taking a window on the upper floors, and the heavy glass hitting the guys below who have their helmuts off. Then a brother takes his gear off before he is away from bldg. Not cool

As FDNY Officer I used those videos as drills. Over 12 years as a company officer None of my guys was ever seriously injured. The Best Chief Officer I ever knew was DC Vincent Dunn. His Book Collapse of Burning Buildings is outstanding.@@thejfrd2490

A vacant office building burning sounds fishy with how low the demand for space is now

Until all structure fires are investigated the possibility of arson is always there Once the fire investigators are finished and have found the cause then the real cause is known there are numerous indications that will give arson away. There are also many more indications of fire being caused by other causes. Example mice chewing through insulation around wires causing electrical arcing. Mouse gets cooked immediately.

Wow that’s some serious action. Were squatters the cause of the fire?
