Hi Guys, A few months ago you showed us how much you are being paid as a driver. I’m really disappointed with your numbers as I was under the impression that it was, and should be, about $10,000 to 20,000 per year more. Until we get you into a higher wage bracket there will always be a shortage of good drivers. Perhaps in a future video you could go through the entire details of your trip. That is, getting the instructions of the trip from Crete. The planning, the paperwork, the walk around, how do you position the rear tire assembly for the weight of the load and arrival paperwork. All this and as I said, you should be paid more. Enjoy the summer and I look forward to more videos.

I’ve been to that drop yard in Denver. That is a tight turn getting out. We used to park next to Crete at the old drop yard at I-76 and Pecos. We don’t park there anymore either. My brother used to run Denver to Grand Junction everyday. I live just south of Denver myself 😎

I’ve noticed that messages aren’t getting answered for sometimes hours after I send them! Preplans used to be 2 or 3 of them on the books before pickups, now I can actually deliver and not have a preplan until I call for one! This has been happening since February.

Pot holes on i-70 in mountains ..terrible. In storms in winter i sometimes payed more for fuel and took the extra time, to take 25 to 40 to Los Angeles.

I wish the company would create an app like the driver connected app. Shame People Net doesn't support that app anymore. They stopped updating that app in 2020. Now it's hit or miss if you see messages/loads on that app

Kevin I know this video is 3 months old, when did you get your new KW . How often do you get home, or rather how long do you stay out before you are aloud home time ? Love you guys. Makes me want to go trucking again .

New KW in April. Minimum time out is 21 days. Kevin gets one day home time for every six days out. Do he usually stays out a minimum of 24 days. Though he’s been out as long as seven weeks. Happy to have you trucking with us. 🤩🥰

Greetings and good day to you Joy of Trucking and drivers. Question for you all. Is there away around every steep grade mountain highway or truck route in the US? Like in winter weather times, where the snow has stopped and highway crews have been out plowing and spreading winter salt everywhere, its still a danger going down mountains, so I was just curious if there are ways around them? That is a good question. Not sure about that. I can tell you that on loads heading out of the Denver area to Phoenix for example we will go through Albuquerque instead of the Rockies is there’s a chance of snow on I-70. It will depend on where you are driving and on your company. Crete doesn’t want drivers to take chances with snow and ice. So if there’s a chance of having to chain we try to go around. And even though we have chains, the company would rather you play it safe and stay off the roads with that kind of weather. So with good trip planning and weather awareness you should be able to avoid most of it or ‘shut it down’ if you’re not thinking it’s safe. Hope that helped! So, were you looking on the Crete app or the Connected Driver app that is a companion to the PeopleNet? Also, did you log out of your PeopleNet? If you logged out, you WILL NOT receive the messages on your phone. I try to make sure they acknowledge the PTA I set when on hometime so they're not trying to plan me on a load on my days off.

@The Joy of Trucking I can use the battery bypass without logging out of PeopleNet and get messages. If you select off duty-sign out on your tablet like you would going into the shop, it prevents messages from going to the phone app.

Then I have to take time out to say I cannot do those. Then I leave. Then they send me something else. Then I have to stop for that one. I might as well spend all day dealing with things while parked. Nobody will let me make money. Nobody else seems to have this problem. I think it is because of A.D.D.

Yes, the loads come on the peoplenet email. Those show up on the app on the phone. Seems that you have to keep the peoplenet on the tablet signed in. We'll need to investigate.

Im suprised your guys asset manager didnt help you guys out. When im on home time if i dont accept the load within an hour my asset manager always calls me to check and accept it for me. Also i always can see my plans on my phone with the pnet connect app. Wonder why yours didnt show up.

Crete is so bottom of the barrel! You can do so much better! OTR sucks because you aren’t paid what you should be paid. Lots of working for free! It’s pathetic. I quit trucking to get into electrical and I will never regret making this move. Trucking is very low income and low respected. It’ll never change. Work demand sucks with garbage pay and lots of immigrants taking American jobs. Leave trucking for the green card workers.

It is not only that. Working for free and missing family life just sucks. You are right though. However if I had a woman companion, then I would not be so angry. That's right. I am married but never home so what is the point? Trucking has made me want a divorce.
