What a great way to wake up and have my coffee! Judy is the reason I became a NYC cabaret singer! I was only 4 when she passed but I knew she was a great talent even as a kid! Short clip...long clip...I 💖 Judy!😁 🌈

Judy was in great voice in the mid to late 1950s which must be why Judy recorded several Capitol albums at this time, the best being "Alone" which was recorded a year after this cabaret engagement. There are several things I love about this show, the best is the Rock and Roll version of "Lucky Day" which includes the dance segment claps and taps. Samples of all the tracks on the KZbin Channel have been uploaded for those thinking of buying the album so that they can judge the quality for themselves before purchasing. This is a commercial release of a non commercial recording. It must be born in mind that low tech non professional equipment was used to make the original recording of the show. It non the less sounds clean if not crisp or rich. The UK pricetag is ouch! I will wait to get it at auction or on offer somewhere.

I read years ago that Sid Luft recorded most if not all of her shows, and most likely sold them over the years to collectors, this "find" makes me think what I read was true!

He recorded a lot, although not most of her shows. Everything he recorded has been out there already, with probably a few exceptions being hoarded by a collector or two. This recording was not one of the Sid tapes.

Sid was neither a producer nor an astute businessman. If he made one penny after marrying Judy that wasn't Judy-related, even after her death, I never heard nor read about it. I don't count the occasional horse that won.
