So funny to see your handle here as unlucky gamer! After missing a set, getting terrible blitz and terrible manual rolls I wanted to be all mad that I got unlucky. It's over 11%, you can hardly call that lucky. Even if they lose an average amount, the net troop difference still swings only 11/12 troops more towards black and blue most likely still wins.

I was orange this game, thanks for the compliment! I have you to thank for my success on classic fixed. I'm still learning progressive. KPO2 has really stretched my Risk skills. Taking that second bonus was probably a mistake and wasn't able to convert the early pink kill. No set on three and I was dead by the time the button got back to me.

GGs bro. I really liked the greedy play. I think if you were serious about keeping it you move troops out of the +3 and let someone else take that one. I would have loved to see an upgrade from a +3 to a +5. +8 was never gonna happen. GGs man. I hope you're having a good tournament!

Hi Pete i was white in this game. thought i would go pro and play on the laptop instead of mobile for speed but ended up not being able to tap the attack button because of the task bar, panic ensued wife saved the day, only to miss another card because the wifi cut out for a few seconds when i least expected it to, gutted. skipping was not the actual play unfortunately lol. great tourny though man.

You’r competitive natural comes through so well, especially on tournament games. Calculated through and through and could literally feel that emotion of oh shit no set on 4, how can I still make this work out. Just wasn’t on your side this time. I felt that way on my round 1 game of just trying to play a clean game and go for my obvious Europe spawn but had no set on 3 so someone decided to throw both of our games and slam into me with their 10 set on 3. I died on turn 4 and he died the next turn. I’m really competitive, had just reached GM, and that was my first tournament game ever. I’m still hot over it and am looking to take it out on my R2 opponents tomorrow.

At the end luck is a major factor in risk, that is why I would play this in a tournament. Skills are very important but if you get poor dice and the cards are not with you it can still ruin even the best. Aside from that GG!

I’m curious why, at 18:00, you didn’t take oranges position at bottom left of map and kill-guard magenta?? I think that would totally altered the way this played out. As soon as they moved that was my first thought.

Hitting a 7 stack of a player on 5 cards would ensure retaliation from orange. If someone did that to me I would assume they were a mega-noob or straight up suicidal.

Honestly I didn’t see they left a 7. I was watching on my phone during a workout and thought it was smaller. That makes sense. But a 22 vs 7 to kill guard would have been interesting. But I see your point that orange was on 5 cards. Bummer.

Man I wish I’d had the dice of Ayreon the blue player, they are having an amazing tournament so far. I’ve had some amazing card luck but some horrid dice luck in both R1 and R2. Lost a 97% set of dice rolls in R1 and a 90% roll in R2, both times from a set on 3. 😂 I’m starting to think me getting sets on 3 is a curse! Very much looking forward to Troy, I really enjoy that map, hoping for a good game with no more failed bounties!

Had my R2 match on tuesday. I was also on the first seat with the least amount of troops for most of the match. I got 1st place and 3 kills. All thanks to the Peteman!

Your mistake I feel Pete was not being grateful for the 45% chance on beating blues stack there and you slow roll instead in hope of improving the odds. It was a 50/50 gamble tho so either way wasn’t guaranteed, GGs!!

That's not actually true. So risk dice have an attackers advantage inherently, so assuming you have time, manualling and blitzing when you have slightly better odds is a worthwhile line of play. I just happened to also get unlucky with the manuals here.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having unexpectedly bad games this tourney! On the first round I got very unlucky without a spawn and died quite early with a 5th place no kills. On round two I did not do so bad, but I could have sweeped the game if I had not messed up a kill by drafting troops wrong. (3rd no kills) The Crazy thing is, both times that I had a practice round right before the tourney I had a game sweep which brought my confidence way up for the real thing. Hopefully I get enough troops to make sure the tourney is measuring my skill and not my luck XD

I was 5th position in round 1 and was left with no possible bonus to take. I got killed after over an hour by the Australia player for a bounty and got 5th and 0. Round 2 I had no trade on 4 and died, got 4th and 0. So my tournament is over and I feel like I couldn't have done anything different

My troop placements all happened to be in other people's easy bonuses so I started the 2md turn with only 16 troops and again no bonus. I tried to take a bonus aggressively and lost 4 on a 5v2. I somehow went out 4th and not 5th but ua. Feels bad man

In my game 2 I was first player and became the only one without a bonus. Card skipped to get the 8 trade, and later stole a failed kill. 5 cards, everyone else had 2, and I had the most troops. Then one player suicided another, feeding it to the third, and giving them first and 4. Would have gotten first and 4 myself without the suicide. Very frustrating game

Hi Pete, quick question if you have time for it. How do you change your handle? I only started a week or 2 ago. I had a choice of my Steam name, which is my own name and don't want the stain of my poor play to besmirch my good name :) or I could change the default General Whatever 123586468 to a choice of 7 or 8 others. I settled on Sharla Incarnate, but would like to be Big Casino. In the settings the option doesn't seem to be there. I suspect it's not an option, but you or anyone reading this has a way please let me know. Cheers

Good game. I have huge difficulties playing this game, as I hate people getting to many bonuses so always weaken myself to much and then get eaten by everyone. Doh. Zed Hardcastle if UKA is a tough opponent, played him a number of times, a great ally at start, but will fail to attack when you both agree to killing a player, will miss a go in progressive and will let you struggle after oponent retaliated, and will back stab you if you survive it and start to dominate, with all thise saved up troops from him just taking a card and watching your war. Always goes for 1st or 2nd. Even with a bad start got a country and almost got 2nd, whilst keeping out of the fighting. Imagine if he had a better start, like orange next to you. You would have gone 1st and 2nd easy.

"Don't play" - that's not a fun start man. I had a similar game: first position. Spawn was awful and I was close to a bot. Took 4th and 0 (6 points) and it destroyed my 12 game winning streak 😢 .... KPO 1 this round was also the worst. Can we just skip these settings maybe?

​@@TheKillPeteStrategy. One thing we can do about bad luck is not be too bitter about it, it happens. Easy for me to say as a viewer though. Competitive spirit does come with all kinds of feelings and it would be unrealistic to expect anyone to get over those in an instant.
