Why not kill yellow around 15 minutes? Seems like a safe play, 3 on the 6 in the south, rest on the 16. you could go even on troop losses and still almost guarantee the kill. White seems doable with the trade in, leaving you in a 1v1, opponent on 2 cards. I think you even get a trade in from white. Obviously easier said when you have the time to pause and count. Just curious if I'm missing something in my logic, and learning from the best seems like a good idea ;)

Very good question. In my view I chose the higher odds play. To win a 4 you need 9 troops (8 is a 99% roll) plus there's two singles after that then the rest have to take yellows main position. Winning all those rolls to go flat on troops (killing 21 for the 20 trade) was riskier I'm pretty sure than the 33% chance of them having a set (which they did) and that set also going into me on five cards. It may not have been a higher odds play, it may have been a coin toss. I'm retrospect I'm happy with my choice but I think that decision was very close either way.

@TheKillPeteStrategy seems like you make most of your decisions based on how you think the other players will perceive it. I'm curious if I'm wrong, but I feel like knowing when another player is getting frustrated and may slam into you is what separates the higher tier(GM) players from the average player. I may be wrong, but I feel like reading players' emotions through their moves is very important if you want to get better. Am I wrong?

It's extremely important. Good players understand the board, tactics, positions, probabilities. Great players understand what their opponents are thinking and feeling as well. @@Random-name87

Meta settings are all on the same map. I have a massive playlist for that one too. As far as map tier for other settings I wonder. Maybe some of the maps for fixed world dom could be cool

from some of kyle’s videos, isn’t it technically more optimal to trade in 3 of a kind instead of a 10 trade in prog as those cards go back in the deck? but also play style is different (letting some things be “unoptimal” to save focus for the larger game)

What a fun match, I don't like small maps or lots of small pockets (single entrance rooms) but I also don't play the game. I like maps with mid sized bonuses, things like the British isles with like 4-5 big bonuses that will never be taken is just goofy. You just never play for bonuses, doesn't seem worth it to have them. Classic I think does a good job, except i'm still of the opinion you split asia north/south, with like a northern 7 territory for 4, and a southern 5 territories for 3 bonus, something like that. I don't have the exact numbers. Also I think I would have taken each of those two 7s into the two 2s of black, and the 4 in the 1 of black, and pin him behind the yellow? 5 in his pocket. The play to get a 9 ready to pounce did work out in the end. Wait Episode 35 is the 30th Map, I wonder what happened to make those numbers off.
