Green broke the alliance because he attacked purple instead of you as good faith, then asked you to attack purple in solidarity but you only attacked a single 1 stack. Should have taken 5-6 purple 1 stacks and then green likely continues to help eliminate purple instead of attacking you

I am (was?) a GM from playing classic fixed in public lobbies, and I'd break alliances all the time. My rationale is it signals displeasure, not that I might attack. But your thoughts on this is making me re-consider
@TheKillPeteStrategy
@TheKillPeteStrategy 2 жыл бұрын
🤣 well don't change your mind based on one opinion. And I agree completely that it signals displeasure. Part of what I'm saying is that signalling displeasure isn't useful. It's like sending a thumbs down for no reason. If you want to communicate your displeasure with me do it in context with a request so a simple man such as myself might understand how to work with you.

Im always suspicious of allies in public lobbies so when they break alliances i prepare for the worst, depending on the situation that might encourage me to atrack them first before they do it to me, so yeah i guess think it twice before breaking an alliance haha.

It does feel really good when it is basically you vs the entire lobby and you win. I have had 2 games like that both in progressive cards and they were some very aggravating yet very satisfying games to play once I won! You are the person that got me into RISK and taught me how to play the game. I do prefer progressive cards and am fond of zombies. Champion ever also teaches me a little bit more about the game than you do in any given video but as a whole your channel has got me to GM rank sub 5000 atm. Most of my games are 4-6 players progressive either world dom or zombies, I like the zombies because it evens the playing field a little bit with my abhorrent luck of almost never getting a set on 4! i am currently working my back from a terrible losing streak and have been winning 5-6 games for every game I lose and that is with the terrible luck that I have. I have actually had games go for several hours and each player match in at least 15 times yet I never got a set on 4 and all my opponents had set on 3 100% of the time. I recall 2 games like that just to paint a picture of the luck I am working with on my journey! I am enjoying this game so much and I thank you for introducing me to the inner workings of this game, this is something that I am really good at and might even compete in some tournaments in the future.
@TheKillPeteStrategy
@TheKillPeteStrategy 2 жыл бұрын
You should definitely compete! I find it some of the most fun. Champ is really talented. He teaches me a lot too. Zombies does make FFA progressive a bit easier because at least you have one player in the game behaving perfectly predictably and consistently. I'm glad to hear about your progression in the game and that I was able to help! Cheers Senpai!

I think by breaking the alliance when you moved a stack into europe, green might have been trying to communicate that he wanted Europe to do the "trap Australian player" strat. Still not a good way to communicate that but I think that's what he was going for. Could have just dropped you a thumbs down and moved a stack into europe instead

People often associate newbs with over aggression but what this game shows is that newbs are more (in general) obsessive about their 'core' territories rather than just pure aggression overall. This can make them do anything from being overly defensive, overly aggressive, place too much value on random 1 troop territories among all sorts of things. This seems to be the one principle which unites the newb mindset from all the games I've seen with them
@TheKillPeteStrategy
@TheKillPeteStrategy 2 жыл бұрын
Newer players are volatile. They follow certain patterns. If you can accurately gauge what level of understanding they are at you can better predict the outcomes. We can dig deeper into what 'obsessive about their core territories' means. I think the root of this behaviour centers in short term thinking. They don't take a long view of the entire game and the steps necessary to win it but rather "I feel threatened therefore I take X action." This can result in the behaviours you mention: Overly defensive, overly aggressive, etc.

I think it was missing consideration in your attitude for this video. You are all about teaching, but this time you laughed at less experienved player than you which is not something you want to see from someome that say he want to help other. For smurfing in this perricular game is understandable. If you go in a random game with a GC rank you might be targeted specially if you have your pete account. I would say GC in disguise is not too bad since you should always expect your opponen to play the best possible. Where it make me feel like it is bad is it because it give GC acces to beginner or low rank reserved game. If you joing game that goes novice to GC then it is fine. If you join a game with novice and beginner only it is kind of ruining others fun.

@@TheKillPeteStrategy that is something i understand, my point is really if a GC on a smurf account you join game that limite to intermediaire and lower that where it is a bit bad. I mean if as a beginner i make a game intermediair and lower i expect to play low skilled player. If i join a a game with novie to GC i expect to play all kind of player at this moment having a smurf does not change anything. It is really just which kind of game you join once you are on an second account. If you join noob game to make fun of them and beat them very hard... that very asshole.

So as a GM laughing the whole time ur finishing someone who u can tell is a novice seems...pointless idk. i get matchmaking is what it is not ur fault novices or even beginners can get matched against GMs.
