Doc, you can use a car fiberglass repair kit from Lowes, to fill in handle gaps instead of trying to remove pins. Build a framework with tape, then pour fiberglass, let dry, then use sander to shape.

Would think one would try a punch or pin before drilling.

You can’t punch it out. The only way is to add lighter fluid in there to help soften the blockage up. No way to access the hole under the striking wheel. What I’ve found is drilling is the most affective method and 98% of the time drilling works.
