It’s funny what people miss out on when they say electronic music or music of today lacks soul, depth, or just isn’t any good. This is a beautiful composition with nods to older genres but envisioned for a modern audience. I haven’t stopped listening to this track for weeks. I’m simply in love with it.
@jamesforbes22052 жыл бұрын
They're not listening to say "no soul" and this comment gets recycled every generation and it's just lazy. Is it the music honey I want to ask them or are you tired? Cause if you go out in the clubs hear it on a proper system and watch new versions of yourself bopping and popping...but how is this not beautiful? I will get old older lol 50 how did that happen... but I will not not ever stop being amazed at how younger people are picking up the torch and throwing down their manifestos of dancefloor love. I think pop music is having a serious moment. You said all the elegant things. I am torn if it's made for a modern audience or if it's just so damn good it's timeless out of the gate. But am I the modern of then or now is my problem. Lol.
@shivaun792 жыл бұрын
Its brilliant! and well described...

I agree and disagree. This is more than electronic music, this has that 70s Disco and 80s pop style. There are more soulful sounds in tracks like these, I can hear the bass guitar, drums and cymbals in a more natural way. This also has a great melody and mostly LYRICS that are sang throughout the song, without repeating the same vocals like 50 times through the track. This is simply magical and I love where this new era is heading to.
@sinistercitizen30612 жыл бұрын
@@ChelitoAlonzo I’m a bit confused. What do you disagree with exactly? It sounds like we’re on the same page.
@sinistercitizen30612 жыл бұрын
@@jamesforbes2205 Well, I’m assuming that because it was made in the general time and space of now, it is intended for the now. If something transcends the now and becomes what you have labeled as “timeless”, it would not have to exclude its intention. Hence, it can be intended for a modern audience and be timeless simultaneously. 🤔 Either way, Mr Forbes, it’s an excellent song to boogie to emphatically. 😉

One of the best tracks I've heard in a long time. A COMPLETE MUSIC VIDEO where the melody, instrumentation, vocals and visuals are a match made in heaven! The Knock's ability to choose the right vocalist is their consistent strength as Dragonette delivers this track with quiet sinister confidence - she is in charge but doesn't need to shout it out. The skilful excellence of her cadence and phrasing is easily overlooked because she is always in sync with the beat but this takes so much experience to make it sound so seamless. Aquaria's performance is spellbinding. Even though I sense some melancholy, she is living her life on her own terms (if only in her dreams) - the control, the attitude, the dance moves. The breakaway scene to where the restaurant is full of people dancing and she doesn't pay them any attention is so clever....oh and shout out to the hair flip at 3:15 and spinning on the car hood at the end! This will be on repeat for a long time! I hope the world hears this track and sees this video. Well done everybody and thank you for making REAL MUSIC!
@liorc.92732 жыл бұрын
Loved reading your review. All I can add is that in the way I see it, all that we see in the clip is that Aquaria is melancholiness since she daydreamed it all... Even though she is daydreaming from what looks like her work desk, so I'm not 100% sure...
@Jedi712 жыл бұрын
@@liorc.9273 I agree. I think the only thing that actually happened was she closed the store, walked to the club, sat there, people came in, she left, walked back to the store, and opened it again. I think everything that involved dancing was in her mind, things she wished she could/would do.
