I just sent this video to my parents who live in the Boston area. Simply because of how powerful this information is for many individuals ☀️. Unfortunately this discussion is often hindered

This is interesting. Why do I feel exhausted on bright sunny days or in brightly lit areas? It feels as if the brightness is trying to put my brain into sleep mode, however in dim or dark areas I feel like my brain is operating at full capacity and I feel extremely alert.

I feel the same. I'm a white, redhead with Scots-Irish background. I'm photophobic and see well in low light. I've always attributed this response to my genetics, coming from a high latitude environment. Even in long summer days, the Scottish sun is more diffused through the atmosphere than where I live in the southern US. Too much light or too bright light causes me to shut down.

Avoiding artifical light after sundown would be ideal to allow melatonin to naturally set in. That's the best time to use blue blockers.

Wow… I’m in complete shock, I’ve spent the last few hours listening to almost all your short videos about concepts I’m curious about, and your content is literal gold, so thank you for your hard work. If you ever get the chance to speak with Andrew Huberman again, I am curious to know if having sunscreen would negatively impact the importance of sun exposure to the eye?

unless you're putting sunscreen in your eyes, i dont think it would negatively affect sun exposure to the eyes.

@@realnickotine That's not true in a complete sense. In other videos, Huberman mentioned having enough of your skin exposed that it would be able to have access to that sunlight as well. I don't remember him specifying with or without sunscreen though.

@@shalinimohan6975 Yes if your skin is exposed to sun then your skin is exposed to the sun, good point.
@realnickotine
@realnickotine Жыл бұрын
@@shalinimohan6975 I was talking about literally putting sunscreen in your eyes, not around them. I wouldn't be surprised if your eyes start to sag/age significantly if exposed to the sun. That definitely contributes to dark circles around the eyes as well.

i had a in built sunglasses within my prescription glasses, which had the deepst shade. I wore it everyday each second from the time i woke up to the time i went to sleep for a month. I started having symptons, no morning woods, weaker blood flow to muscles and penis, would always akwe up around 5 and not be able to fall asleep again, worser acne. I fixed this by getting normal presciption glasses without any shade. just 3 days later and those symptoms are fading away.

How come my dog that has PRA-progressive retinal atrophy sleeps at night in his place OK outside temperature has a little effect. Has he learned with time by feeling/sensoring all beings, events around him? Is this kind of connection with others that saves the day (actually the night!:)) for him?

You're saying the blue lights come on And triggers your brain and cells to be on active and sleep will come in sixteen hours. So if we're getting blue light in the afternoon and evening hours, is that still triggering us to be awake for 16 hours?

No it’s a 24 internal clock that is working on the light / dark awake / sleep setting. So the clock is coded to 16 hours after waking comes sleep.

I don’t think exposing our eyes to bright blue light is that great. It’s artificial and our system is not used to fake blue light. I think spending time outside makes much more sense to me as you get natural light.
