I love to see parents be intentional when spending such quality time with their kids. I just watched with a big smile on my face as I saw the kiddos have so much fun. Thank you for sharing.

Everitt's sweet little hand reaching to your face while you nursed and read to your family 😍. And Silas is practically Jason's twin, hey? So nice to catch up with y'all. Thanks again for sharing your precious family ❤

I love the fact that you and Jason take all of the children for an outing once a month. I know how difficult it is with a large family. The children are so well behaved.

What a fun day trip! Loved the playground for the kids! Amazing history and how things were built back then. Everything inside was so perfect. Silas finding the silver dollar was a great find. He’ll have to see how much it is worth today.. I noticed that Everett has 4 teeth and crawling around. He’s a happy baby! ♥️♥️♥️

Awww! The house takes me waaay back to when I was a little girl back in the 1950’s visiting my grandparents! ( I’m old! Lol). I love your family outings! I love the joy in your family which spills out in Benjamin and Lydia’s smiles and giggles! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

A great idea someone had to preserve those old structures! And definitely a good outing, reconnecting with our nation's past, the old ways. Thanks for sharing.

Instead of baggies, I re-use the sacks from bread, cereal, and chips. To seal them shut I use a clothes pin, tape, or staples.

The Old Barn The old barn and smoke house used to sit on Ed Bright’s farm on Sulphur Springs Road in Manchester. Ed was a member of the Manchester Saddle club. He rode a mule named Beulah, the namesake of Beulah’s Shelter in Greensfelder Park. The shelter has a large stone fireplace with a giant swing out kettle. Every year on New Year’s Day, Mr. Bright and his Indian Chief Clem from Oklahoma would lead a trail ride for the Manchester Saddle Club. Mr. Bright always wore buck skin clothing and Clem would be in full Chief regalia. Every one would bring a can of Chili and dump it in the pot to heat while we were riding the trails of Greensfelder. We would then come back to Beulah’s Shelter and eat the worst chili I can ever remember having. When I was about 6, Mr. Bright traded mounts with me on the ride. I got to ride Beulah and he rode my fox trotter, Queeny. I lived near Mr. Bright’s farm and used to stop to visit him while riding to the saddle club. He had a log cabin on the property that he claimed Lincoln spent the night in. I think that it was 1979 when Mr. Bright passed away and I still miss him and all of his equine wisdom and stories. Beulah out lived him and spent the rest of her years at Suson Park in south county. The old green house belonged to another man from the Manchester Saddle Club named Jay Allen Davis. He was the local horse trailer dealer and the man that my grandfather bought the horse trailer that we still have today from. He told me a funny story about when they moved his house to the park. He lived on White Road in Chesterfield and he went out for breakfast the morning that they were going to be moving his house, when he finished his breakfast, he went back to watch the moving of his house but the police without giving him a reason, told him the road was closed. This was on the Olive Street Road end of White Road. He decided to go around to the Conway Road side where he met with another police car that told him the road was closed. This time he asked why the road was closed and the police officer told him that there was a house being moved to the park. Mr. Davis laughed and then explained that it was his house being moved and that he needed to get in to get the rest of his belongings out of his house so the officer let him through. I have been to and in both of those buildings as a little girl. I guess that makes me really old or maybe just historic like all of the buildings in Faust Park. The Manchester Saddle Club was originally on the southwest corner of Manchester and Highway 141 and later moved to Sulphur Springs Road. It is now just another subdivision and the ground is hard to even recognize. It makes me sad to see what that area looks like now and how the farms and fields I grew up riding through are now houses crammed on top of each other all in the name of progress.

You could put the sandwiches in a big Tupperware container! I use a smaller one for my daughter’s lunch box I try to use reusable containers in her lunch box or compostable paper sandwich bags ziplock makes them but they’re pricey got them on sale! Looks like a fun day exploring the historic homes! Benjamin’s having such a fun time at the park love to hear him laugh!

We like to use wax paper to wrap for lunches. The beeswax ones are nice but they are $$ and don't always wash well imo. That Pavillion is beautiful! I totally need to implement this monthly outing into our homeschool. Hubby is off on Friday so my kids would love it!
