James Gunn and James Mangold aren't saying two different things. Gunn has said it many times that the DCU is about world-building, and not about story-building. Swamp thing can be a standalone movie, but still be within the DCU. He exist in the same universe as Batman and Superman.

Yeah that's not hard to understand. Gunn presents a DC world with multiple facets, but it don't have to be intertwined all the time.

I think debuting the new Black Panther in a post credits scene for F4 makes more sense than most people would think. 🤔 The character did debut in a Fantastic Four comic, after all.

But think about how huge that would be the 3rd Black Panther movie with it being the 1st movie Denzel Washington and his son, David Washington, has done together and Marvel releases it in February during Black History Month like they did the 1st Black Panther. Every African American and African in the world would be lined-up to see that movie.

Elephant in the room: Chadwick and Lupita wouldn't birth an Aaron Pierre or Kelvin Harrison Jr in regards to T'Challa Jr. If Wakanda is still an uncolonized African region, a T'Challa variant still wouldn't look like Aaron Pierre or Kelvin Harrison Jr. The casting in Black Panther and Wakanda Forever is very deliberate as it's addressing the diaspora...

American big studios are weighed down with expensive costs that these independent production companies don’t have to deal with like being allowed to use non-union actors , and non union below the line crews … that is the reason these smaller independent studios are able to do these low cost projects

I like John David Washington, but I don’t think he’s the right choice for Black Panther. I enjoyed Skeleton Crew, though I disagree with some character choices in the finale. I loved James Mangold's comments and hope he directs Swamp Thing before SW: Dawn of the Jedi. I have more faith in James Gunn than in Lucasfilm.
