It’s 100% the nostalgia factor in terms of Spiderman Homecoming. At my theater there was a 24 hour Star Wars marathon playing all 9 films of the Skywalker saga. The second it hit the sequel trilogy people started to leave. They all said they had just seen the sequel trilogy in the last 8 years. Some of them had even originally seen it at my theater. So they didn’t feel like watching it again. People probably got to homecoming and figured they just saw it not too long ago.

I'll personally consider Marvel truly back when they achieve consistent box office success. It's not about whether I personally like the movies or not. It's about their ability to repeatedly draw large audiences and sustain strong box office numbers (relative to budget). When they can do that, that's when Marvel will be back.

I’ve been saying this for a long time "superhero fatigue" is not real. When things are good people aren’t tired of things being more good, but then things are bad that’s when you hear "oh, I’m tired". The projects that have been "flopping" are the ones that weren’t well received and that’s when you hear people use that phrase of "superhero fatigue". Nobody used that phrase when Guardians 3 came out or spider-verse, The Batman or even Loki season 2. Just put out great content people will lineup to see it. This isn’t rocket science.

Thanks for the constant uploads. 18-min I agree that Homecoming has zero nostalgia attached right now but that it's also the Spiderman movie that's on streaming or TV more than any other Spidy-film &Winston said it No-Way-Home would be the only one to really make some money. I heard about the Rami Spiderman films being re-released but I didn't even know about Homecoming coming back to theaters &Homecoming is my favorite MCU Spiderman film but I'm not going to see it in theaters when I got the 4K at home

I think it’s always weird to immediately judge someone based on their past work. I totally understand it, but the truth is we just never know. The guy who wrote Chernobyl and much of the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us also wrote Superhero movie with Drake Bell back in the day lol. I have no idea who the writers behind X-Men 97 are, and it’s THE X-Men adaptation outside of comics. I just hope they get people who are ACTUALLY passionate about these characters and what their stories represent. We need it now more than ever. 97 works because it oozes passion, and you can tell every single person involved poured their heart, soul, and fandom into it. My thoughts are the same regarding Spidey 4. Instead of a hired gun, can we PLEASE get someone who adores the character and actually has something to say? This is a version of Peter who is beyond traumatized at this point. The overall lightheartedness from the Watts movies ain’t gonna cut it for me. Dude has nobody now. Use that in the storytelling!

After 20+ years of superhero stuff and already seeing a build up and payoff from the MCU once I am not sure what new experience these kinds of movies can offer. Plus there is so much superhero type stuff that has come out over the past few years that it is even more saturated than it was in the 2010s. Outside of the lifelong comic/superhero fans most people aren’t going to be just as interested and invested in the same thing forever. It gets old after a while.

We had been “trained” in the Infinity Saga to expect connectivity and greatness. Instead, perhaps we need to “retrain” to view them like the breadth and depth of the comics (some great, some bad and everything in between). I say “we” because I include myself.

Not to toot my own horn (I won't, it's still early days), but from what it looks like NOW, I'm so happy and content that they are starting with the X-Men as a team, not the stupid idea (sorry Kristian😅) of giving them their own separate movies that lead into an ensemble X-Men film. Movie could turn out terrible, but at least their starting out in a direction that I feel does these characters justice....

I don't know why you aren't thrilled with most of the directors listed in that report about who could direct Spider-Man 4. All those guys have proven themselves to be talented enough to take on a movie like that. No matter who gets it, I'm sure it'll be good as long as Sony doesn't interfere with it too much. As far as Glen Powell's comments, nothing he said came off as disrespectful in any way that I can tell, assuming they're true. However, he's in the running to play Captain Planet, so I'm gonna treat what he supposedly said as nothing but rumor for now. And I think Coy might have a point about his take on the MCU. It's not quite the novelty it was back when it first started, but I think it will again become the solid franchise it once was. It'll take a bit of time, though.

The GOT/HOD was a good example, but I think an important thing to note is that while reactions to HOD was mostly positive, it was still nowhere near the cultural juggernaut GOT was. I just saw Songbirds and Snakes when it came out on Starz, and I liked it through the end of the Hunger Games, but the last hour or so was kind of a letdown for me. I get that they needed something to turn Snow into who we know he becomes, but I didn't feel like it belonged in that movie. Maybe it would have been better to end this one at or soon after the end of the games and hold on to the heel turn for the second movie.

Crazy to think that Glen Powell and Jonathan Majors both started in the devotion movie in 2022. Whilst the movie was not a hit, , both Glen and Johnathan were considered to be rising stars at the time. However since then, their careers have gone in the opposite direction.

Drew Godard is my choice. He is the creator of the Daredevil Netflix show. He wrote the first 2 episodes of the Netflix series, then he left because he was offered the writer/director job on Sinister Six which ended up getting canceled when the Garfield version was dropped in favor of the MCU version. This brings everything back together. Godard gets his Spider-Man film, with Daredevil in a likely supporting role. I'd love to see him finally direct Daredevil.

I dont blame Glen powel for being weary of joining the MCU - there has been some many production problems at Marvel recently, he will not want to end up like Mahershala Ali who coming off 2 ocars, signed up for blade and likely missed out on other roles as the movie goes through endless script changes or reshoots. Also, often when you join the MCU you are tied up for many years multiple appearances and could miss out on other roles. As Glen Powel is already in demand, he doesnt need to rely on an MCU role to make it big, like say a Tom hiddleston or Chris Hemsworth back in 2011.

Not every movie theater got the Spider-Man rereleases. If they did they would have two screenings a day, the films were barely in theaters for a week and they were not showing them everyday. They were the equivalent to a fathom event. I don’t really think it’s a big deal for MCU.

If Spider-Man 4 isn't a Drew Goddard "Daredevil & Spider-Man" team-up well then Marvel/Sony missed the biggest opportunity to bring back Paul Giamatti with Rhino Suit (Stark Tech) for Spider-Man to fight while Daredevil tries to stop Kingpin in the same movie. They even teased Charlie Cox Daredevil in previous Spider-Man movies which is perfect table setting for this movie. You do a 2 picture deal with Tom to get him back for Spider-Man 4/5. Spider-Man is Peter Parker grounded, making it own his own for the first time and doing street level things and Spider-Man 5 you finally introduce Miles Morales as Peter's successor. 5 really amazing movies that build on each other and then let Miles have his own live action movie as the 6th movie in the series.

Avengers 5 is where we will meet the new Avengers team. My hope is that it's Avengers: Armor Wars with Don Cheadle and Anthony Mackie in the lead. That way, they can keep that story somewhat. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will become the 6th movie, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be the finale.

If you really go back and dissect MCU Phases 1-3, you'll see that there was so much mediocrity and bad. For every good or great movie you got a mediocre or crap one, sometimes a streak of a couple highs and then back to a low. When people think about the highs of the MCU, they just really think of Phase 3, which itself wasn't without a stinker or two, but was the most consistently good phase.

Exactly. Xmen is a good cartoon. But its rushed tiktok pacing with cartoon dialogue works for what it is. Its not great narrative. If you translate that to actual movies/shows it would be garbage. But its a good product as animation

The MCU should have started fresh with new heroes after End Game. They could have still done some more individual hero movies with Shang Chi and Black Panther etc but they should have given the whole Avengers thing a rest and started toward something new. Let us be with these heroes in THEIR worlds alone for once. And chill out on all these universal and multidimensional threats.

Can we all remember the dumbass Mark Webb post-credit scene from amazing Spider-Man 2 who is the guy in the fedora and why would vultures wings be locked up in a case why would Dr octopuses legs already be locked up in a case when none of these characters were around yet I'm glad sinister six never got made because if it would have we would have had to deal with some freaking weird-ass villains that didn't have a natural or organic origin with our Spider-Man

I was surprised Glen Powell is like 6 feet even. I guess Cumberbatch was right that the keys to looking tall are a good coat and a short friend. In their movie, he makes a joke about her being short and Sydney comes back that he isn't tall enough to say that. None of which is really relevant to anything, but I did like Anyone But You and this Hitman movie has Kristian's girl from Andor.

I think Sony just picked a bad weekend to re-release Spider-Man: Homecoming because of graduation events. If an internationally based studio cannot take that into account, as they SHOULD, then they're just flat-out foolish by becoming reactionary. Also, summer vacations are beginning this week. That should be taken into account as well.

Spider man 4 should be directed by Goddard a 100% bring rami back to do spider man 4 with tobey . I'm not a fan of the Batgirl Ms marvel directors that's a terrible choices I didn't care for Ms marvel. Justin Lin is my 3rd choice wingard 2nd he could handle the symbiote very well . My number one choice is Goddard he gets spiderman hes Street level he's gota horror back ground which is perfect for symbiote as well hire him hes perfect for Hollands spiderman especially young adult Holland spiderman . Great choice
