I owned a Game Boy for most of my childhood, and fondly remember playing some of the games on this list. I also remember there being a Game Boy comic book series in which the handheld was a portal between the real world and the Marioverse.

I got a GB for Xmas in 1989 when in hit the USA. Comparing DK to Mario is night and day. DK looks amazing for the GB.

I absolutely loved Metroid 2 Gameboy ! I remember playing it for hours on a vacation with my parents 😊

I was impressed to see all those great Atari games you showed during your lead-up to the countdown. Those are some of my very favorite games. Even the Williams games Defender and Joust. I was first introduces to all these games in the arcades but was delighted to be able to get them for my Atari Home Computer. I moved on to more profitable pursuits like computer programming and desktop publishing by the late '80s and early '90s. I liked the portability of the Game Boy but I never imagined that it would still play so many of my favorite games. I first saw Tetris on a PC at work. That's the version I know and love. I'm glad it made #1 here because this is the version most people seem to remember.

I knew that my comment on Donkey Kong would make it! Hahaha... Not much surprised to see Tetris being the 1st place. It's an important version indeed. I'd like to know if Bionic Commando made its place somewhere in the top 40...

I would say pokemon red and blue are the same game as you need both to collect a full poke a dex .great video some brilliant games ...shame no alien vs predator last of his clan ❤❤

I am sad I forgot to vote. But I would have forgotten of Motocross Mania at 20... Which was better than most I would have voted for.

I not watched the video yet, but I must declare, DOnkey Long 94 is the #1 best Original gameboy game. It even has awesome super gameboy suport for that added a awesomeness. ANy other choice is wrong. #2 and 3 etc etc a combination of super mario land 2 and wario games int he next few slots, order may vary is fine for those base don personal prefeenwece.

2:54 Was that Game Boy specifically designed just for this advert? Because I've never before seen one with that huge logo beneath the screen and the small Nintendo lettering bottom-left. Was that really a retail model in some region? Or did they just make it like that to emphasise the Game Boy name in the advert?

Lol I can't help but crack up when I hear Donkey Kong lol 🤣 I'm a huge Larry Bundy Jr fan and I saw a video someone made that had things he put on his bum! 😅 It was a joke made in good fun and number 1 was Donkey Kong! Lol 🤣🤣🤣
