I flipped out SO HARD when he showed that last resturant- as soon as I saw the animatronic wolf head and king tut head, I instantly recognized them from Spooky World Cafe from Chicago, from the 90s. When they closed and reopened (as an ESPN Zone no less!) My 9 year old self was crushed! I shit you not I've always wondered what became of the DOZENS of animatronics in that restaurant. I am at peace seeing that they traveled to a new eatery to entertain new folk!.

The Slaughtered Lamb is in walking distance of the Barrow Street Theater; not a restaurant, but I did see an amazing production of Sweeney Todd there, where, for a little extra, audience members got to enjoy savory pies from a menu curated by a former White House pastry chef. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life.

Fun fact , according to folk lore vampires are susepitcal to silver.its a "pure" metal and early mirrors were backed with silver which wouldn't reflect the "impure" vampire. It's theorized that modern mirrors backed with other materials would probably reflect them.

You know a funny thing about the fact that vampires can’t see they’re own reflections is that in modern day times that wouldn’t be a problem for them because back in those days, when the main way to see ones own reflection being a mirror, is that mirrors back then were backed with SILVER which is one of the things that vampires are weak against so it makes sense that they couldn’t be seen in those mirrors. Modern day mirrors are usually backed with aluminum which no vampire is weak to that we currently know of. This information can also be applied to phones and cameras meaning that a vampire could definitely have a picture of themselves taken in modern times!

Dracula is the book I'm re-reading while recovering from kidney failure and a month long hospital stay. I read it in high school but it's great to come back to it and appreciate the flavors of the narrative, the structure, the pacing, etc. Also, Voltaire: a couple of years ago, I sent a message through your website with a question. I figured I had a 25% chance of some representative actually getting back to me and answer my question. I was blown away when you personally replied to my message. It means a lot that you take the time to respond to your fans directly. Thank you.

I still remember catching Dracula on TV be accident because I couldn't fall asleep. And I remember falling asleep to the third Creature of the Black Lagoon movie and never finished it. But my favorite is the Wolfman, there's just something about the way Lon Chaney Jr, plays the character that's always stuck with me.
