Fun Fact: The color Pink symbolizes death in Japanese culture due to its association with cherry blossoms (sakura), which only bloom for a very short time before they wilt. It's why in some Japanese series, places and/or characters who are associated with death like the Grim Reaper-like character Marluxia from Kingdom Hearts has pink added to their designs. Because of that, the color pink is actually a great choice to add to a gothic lair or gothic attire, especially if it's in the form of flowers. Anyway, onto my own comment: Thank you for another great episode, I love this series. Last year I got one of those first crow statues and that raven winged bowl that you showed in last year's video, and after watching this one, I'm hoping that my local Michael's store has one of those other crow statues with the flowers when I go there as well because that was definitely my favorite item in this video and I think it would look quite nice next to the other crow one I already have.

I've redone an upstairs bedroom in shades of pink for my granddaughters but I definitely wanted to have gothic decor in it, so yes I bought and made pink and white gothic decor for it but to know me all year in my living room is gothic including black and purple Christmas trees, skulls and an amazing bust of Vlad and his wife

While not into pinks and pastels myself, I absolutely loved that selection! I thought about getting the newlydeads on the boat for the bathroom (Wifey IS into pink and pastels) but maybe later if it is still around. I did get the angel winged skeleton wall hangings, one of the other newlydeads sculptures, some neat creepy decorative keys, and an X-ray skull candle that rotates colored lights when you light the candle. I'm hoping more stuff will be put out later because it seems many of the usual stores have a somewhat smaller selection this year, especially in the "year round decor" category. 💀

I'm actually in love with the pink halloween decor this year! My room is Purple and silver with splashes of pink (namely my pink bat 'neon' sign and my pink moon with bats wall hanging). So, these items fit so beautifully into my decor. Its going to be hard to keep control of my wallet when I finally get into store! I have to say that the purple, green, and black is incredibly tempting, particularly the raven figure and that pillow with the death's head moth. Though I don't have a proper lair yet, seeing as it's not something I want to impose on my fiance until we have a living space big enough for it to be separate from our shared spaces, I may have to indulge in a couple more spooky decor bits, seeing as that lovely pillow is calling to me. Though there's one big downside I've found with the Halloween pillows from Michael's. They don't have a zipper closure, and they get squashed pretty fast. I bought the Curiosity Shop and palmistry hand ones last year, and by the time spring rolled around, they'd gotten squashed and mangled from being on the couch so badly that the stuffing doesn't even properly fill them out all the way. And here I was, worried that they were too stiff and overstuffed when I bought them! :( Guess it's time to get good with a sewing needle, and maybe see if I can add a zipper to the darn things so I can re-stuff them as needed.

This episode made me so happy. My lair is only pastel colors and I buy a lot of year-round Halloween items to repaint them to my theme. My favorite decor I put together were wooden coffin trays I found at Joanns that I repainted in pastel colors, glued pastel flowers inside, and hung them on my wall. I now have a pastel-goth Halloween bedroom to come home to thanks to the wonderful ideas I have gotten from this channel! Much love Aurelio!

the lids on the Micheals jars are removable they are hot glued to keep them from moving during shipping and until you get them home just slip a butter knife between the lid and jar and twisted the knife along the edge ever few centimeters until it pops off and now you can use it!! I would keep the glue on so it doesn't clank when you close it again! and you can find those sparkly black reeds you can find at dollar tree, dollar tree also has some good Halloween decor to use for gothic decor as well there's a lot of good things at dollar tree to make into gothic decor as well

Michael's doesn't usually disappoint, and I was excited to see the pastel spookies I saw advertised early on, but the gold was a turn-off (HOWEVER, you know you're the trailblazer of my crafting heart, so I will be picking up some silvery paint for home-brushing treatments). For a while, my Michael's only had a couple shelves of pastel goth stuff (separated from their Halloween section for some reason), but most of it was couple-skeleton stuff (as you noted). I've been going back weekly to catch their stuff, but they're STILL not fully stocked! The stuff I loved this haul were mostly gold-brushed versions of things I got last year (I am definitely going back for the Raven & Roses, though). I do have to go to the other Michael's in the area, though, cuz I know for a fact the one across town has things the nearby one doesn't! (I need one more set of parentheses here for no reason)

@@davietklein637 not particularly. while the three big substyles of lolita fashion do bleed into each other from time to time, Gothic Lolita tends to stick with black, white, grey, and jewel tones colour-scheme wise. pink is very much the territory of Sweet Lolita. while there have been some pastel goth dresses released by different brands, it's very easy for these pieces to just become a sort of edgy Sweet Lolita rather than Gothic Lolita due to this colour association, especially since most of these pastel goth items are made more similarly to a Sweet dress than a Gothic one, prioritizing cuteness over elegance. definitely not a hard and fast rule, and some outfits with these pieces manage to be right in the middle of Gothic and Sweet, but yeah, from what I've seen, Gothic Lolita is more associated with typical goth colour schemes than any sort of pastels. (sorry for the ramble, I've been in this fashion for five years and I love any opportunity to talk about it!)

This is amazing, and thx to you I finally started painting some seashells I had collected back living with my grandparents. I wanted to craft them but I had no idea what to do! I love that there's more lines out. I know the purple green black theme is all fantasy theme but I would label it something like "swamp goth" The tarot line this year expanded and I really love the new signs they have. This year the biggest themes I've seen in Halloween decor trends are Retro/Vintage Halloween, and Black and Gold color schemes. The main halloween line at Joann Fabric this year is called Dark and Deco. Imagine Halloween at Jay Gatsby's place, with some new money people running around like Britney Spears with Snakes on their shoulders, and you'll get the idea. Gold brushed things are the color scheme trend for this year. Also, between Michael's and Joann's, they both have the reto/vintage style Halloween stuff in the usual Black/White/Orange color schemes. What I was most intrigued to learn though was that Aurelio is a part of the same facebook group I am. Lol! Most the posts I see on there are for the UK or the Midwest United States. Pretty rare for me to see any people from the coasts. Then again, it's been a hot minute since I last checked Facebook.... Great Vid, Aurelio. Happy Hunting for a Haunting Halloween Haul!

If you want an all black functional cauldron Michael's does have it in 2 different sizes. It's in the Halloween baking area, they are dishwasher, microwave, and oven (up to 400 degrees F) safe!

Michael's started glueing the lids on things started a couple years ago, probably to combat the amount of broken items every year as people lift things by the lids. You can totally use a little solvent and get the lids off with a tiny bit of effort

Here in Italy we're lucky if we get some classic, kiddy things or more horror themed stuff, and even then you gotta look for it in costume shops and they're kinda overpriced. Your Michaels is SO Good! I want those usable jars, bat fillers, and the globes... I could make mini cemetery creepy scenes in it. The skull crow collection this year is awesome!!! The metal tray u got can be made into a 3 tiered desert or jewelry tower. And they have changed all the jars likely because of your show- you are pushing them to do better. Voltaire- if you created a line of Gothic miniatures, I would be all over them. You can start by making your wall papers and pillows in miniature scale for my future goth dollhouse. The Halloween Blush collection, next to the fall blush collection, is what it is called (pastel goth) , sold so quickly, Also the green/ purple items are the Mystic moon collection, , plus the stores did not get a huge inventory of them. Considering how popular it is it will probably come again next year. Our store still have a few left. It was a nice collection/

Pastel Goth is certainly niche worth appealing to, but I doubt that this might have been the only reason for the pink collection. Pastels (thanks to that wonderful phenomenon known as optical mixing) tend to really pop when paired with black.

I can't believe I was only recommended this channel yesterday, am subscribed to Christine McConnell, so they know I like creative gothic shows so am very annoyed with KZbin at the moment!! Absolutely love this channel, wish the Halloween merchandise was better in the UK, it is very boring in comparison to the stuff you have there, if you want anything unusual you have to make it yourself! I bought that Oleander jar, and here’s a tip: you can literally just twist the lids, the glue holding them is weak as hell. I put dried flowers in mine.

4 or so years ago I began to collect snow globes, but by far my very favorite one is one I bought last year at a big lots at Halloween. It's stand looks a bit like a black candle holder and inside the globe itself is a skull with a Raven getting ready for take off on its head. I'm looking forward to expanding my collection this year, though I might need a new shelf 😅

I mean honestly my fav homemaking channels are this and Azusa Barbie. I really like both styles, and I'm sure my dream house is going to look really weird. Sometimes it's nice to have some variety. I've always really liked that pastel goth joins the two together.

I don't know if the religious goods stores are the same in the USA, but here in Brazil, if you want a really functional cauldron, this is the place! this type of store also has crystals, tarot decks, mirrors, incense, medicinal herbs, candles, daggers and all kinds of items for rituals and offerings.
