It helps but your vocabulary will be very odd. Trust me. My child went to the elementary in Germany and I learned from her books and the other mothers.

You see this is perfect... You have visually the German text then the translation and the proper pronunciation and it's simple child story... I'm a reader... I've always read ..I learned basic French this same way. Reading does something that just doesn't happen any other way... Learn like a child with accelerated adult abilities. Danke!!!👍

My first German "books" were magazines for sewing 😊then cooking books. It was in the Soviet Union. Also my father had a German - Russian dictionary that have remained but my mum had hated German. It had reminded her the period if war

At 11:42 the past tense is different in the translation: "Der Kopf, die Hand, das Bein und die Schulter tun mir weh" - that is in the present tense. - ""I have hurt my head, my hand, my leg and my shoulder"" - that is in the present perfect i.e. past tense.

Dieses Video macht mich, nostalgisch für etwas die nie gewesen hat zu fühlen. Ich will ein kleines Kind wiedersein und ich will, dass eine herzliche Oma mir Märchen liest. Deutsch fühlt sich wie kein großes Problem, wenn ich diese Geschichtchen zuhöre. Ich will getresst für Schule und Uni nicht mehr sein. Ich will nur auf Deutsch sprechen können.
