At 27:50, when you explained the second Ayah of Surah Asr, I was in awe and dropped my pen pondering on it. I have read the translation hundreds of times, indeed no translation catches the beauty of "Word of Allah Subhanawatala". Perhaps just this one minute was worth a lot more than what I can think of ! SubhanAllah. Indeed the hadith of the Prophet sas is Haqq. Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty says: Whoever comes with a good deed will have the reward of ten like it and even more. Whoever comes with an evil deed will be recompensed for one evil deed like it or he will be forgiven. Whoever draws close to Me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an arm. Whoever draws close to Me the by length of an arm, I will draw close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to Me walking, I will come to him running. Whoever meets Me with enough sins to fill the earth, not associating any partners with Me, I will meet him with as much forgiveness.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2687

Ahamdu Lillah and Jazak Allah u Khairun for putting together such an amazing course which is not easy to understand but you have explained it so brilliantly, methodically and have simplified it. The colour coded slides are a great help to understand. The practice exercises which are added help to remember and self analyse. May Allah SWT reward you and everyone immensely who are involved in this work

Quranic examples were outsanding and shorter in sentence sizes, meaning easy to catch; most importantly the presentation is excellent. In the Quranic verses, you described grammatical structurs word by word, that was so good and helpful. Dua for you, may Allah reward you.

As salamu Alayka another excellent video.. JazakuAllahu Khayran.. the verse 4:171 at the end, i do understand everything you said.. but if i tried to translate that and wrote the translation directly under each word it would be ' only the messiah son Mary messenger Allah' but because innama is at the start it could be translated as 'only, the Messiah son of Mary is a messenger of Allah'.. (i know that's not true) and the translation is The Messiah son of Mary was only a messenger of Allah. Innama doesn't get translated until later in the sentence, so my question is why? should i know that by now or have i missed something or have you not spoken about it yet? Barak Allahu Feek
@TheLanguageofQuran
@TheLanguageofQuran Ай бұрын
JazakAllahu khayran for your thoughtful question! You’re absolutely right in noticing the shift in word order when translating. The reason "only" appears later in the English translation rather than directly after "innama" is, as you mentioned, more about English grammar than Arabic. In translation, the word order often needs to be adjusted to make the sentence flow naturally and clearly in the target language, in this case, English. Arabic has a flexible structure where emphasis is sometimes placed differently than in English, so when translating, we modify the word order to ensure the intended meaning is conveyed correctly. It’s not that you missed anything; it’s just part of the process of translation between languages with different grammatical rules. BarakAllahu feek for your keen observation! Keep up the great work, and feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Jazak Allah khair, very well explained I have a question Whether laam comes in the beginning or later in the sentence, the sliding laam, it is called laam taakeedee. Right ?
@TheLanguageofQuran
@TheLanguageofQuran 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, laam taakeedee means the Laam of emphasis. The other two names mentioned in the lessons, are for when it comes in the beginning and when it comes in the middle of a sentence.

assalam alaikum, is it a most to have ismu inna and khabar inna in a verse when inna comes?
@TheLanguageofQuran
@TheLanguageofQuran 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry such questions are very difficult to answer by text. Inn short - to complete a sentence with Inna you will need both parts ISMU INNA and KHABARU INNA These two parts are the same as the MUBTADA and KHABAR rules in a standard JUMLAH ISMIYYAH. The sentence has no link with an Aayah, an Aayah can have more than one sentence.

I am little confused at 23:40. Earlier when explaining, "Inna", you mentioned that "Walakin" will make the "Mubtada" into Nasab. Here I thought the Mubtada is "Aksaran-naasi", and not just "Aksara". The examples so far all has one word Mubtada. If the Mubatada has several words, does only the first word get converted to Nasab? I do understand that the "An-nasi" is Majroor because it is Mudaf Ilaihi. Assume, if this was not the case (of Mudaf Ilaihi), would "Walakin" change all the words in Mubtada to Nasab, or just the first word of the Mubtada? I wish there is a way to send questions in Audio messages which will be much easier... Alhamdulillah anyways.
@TheLanguageofQuran
@TheLanguageofQuran 3 жыл бұрын
Walikumusalaam From the reading of your question, you are asking about the Mubtada being nasab, your analysis of the above is right. So I do not understand - what you mean by if it was not the case ? As for many words it will impact (Inna / lakinaa) depends on what is the Mubtada in the sentence. There is a topic which is covered in intermediate level as to what can be Khabar and What can be Mubtada, when we reach that Insha Allah it will become a lot more clearer.

As salaamu alaikum Ustad, This may or may not have any to do with inna. In 3:78 why doesn't the sun letter in أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ have a shaddah?
@TheLanguageofQuran
@TheLanguageofQuran 2 жыл бұрын
Please review the rules of sun and moon letters. It **only occurs** when they are followed by AL ال = the. In this example you have given there is no AL there أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ.

This is a common mistake we all make, I have made similar mistakes initially. Please note AL = the ال, the ALIF is front is called a Haxzatul Wasl (not the standard Hamzah). In Qranic script it is clearly marked. if you see an standard Hamzah (Hazatul Qat') at the begining of a word, it will be on a ALIF, but you see a small Hamzah written on top. This will help you easily tell the difference between the two. I have covered the Hamzatul Wasl in the videos -
