I am currently away from my Ugandan husband for the next year until he finishes his university degree. I kept getting malaria and had to leave. Long- distance relationships are difficult enough but Ugandan men don't typically verbalize much on issues of love even in person let alone via texting. I think its their culture. I know what you mean. And women need that affirmation of love alot even in writing or we assume they don't care anymore. The struggle is real lol Also, same with my husband, when I came to Uganda 9 years ago he had a job but we started an NGO which took so much time and effort and it made more sense that he work for it instead. I am able to make up the small difference in income as Ugandans earn very little money in a month working long hours and Saturdays. People are quick to judge. Also my husband and I would prefer to stay in Uganda. He is not seeking a visa either. We may spend some time here in US for him to work awhile and get experience but then go back to Uganda and build. Sorry for the lengthy comment 🤭

I understand you. My husband is American. To be honest, it's still a fuss for people to understand that he married a Ugandan and I don't want to relocate to the US. To be honest, I can only visit, but I find my home Uganda a lot comfortable for me and our family. I think the narrative has been twisted, and it will be good for people to know that you can have such a relationship and it's not based on personal interests. Long distance is tough, and like you said, we spend at least 6 months apart, but it definitely takes a lot of work. 5 years down the road, we are growing strong. So hang on Emily & Josh.

I agree with you 100%.. Some people can be so cruel .:I’m so happy that they know how to disregard ignorance.!!!🙋🏿♀️..My question would be ..would you want Adam to grow up without any parents ..?If Emily had not adopted him .. there is no guarantee he would’ve had even one parent ..if she had not made that decision. His biological mother died after childbirth..let’s be real here 🤔.. ok? That’s why here in the US there’s so many children that are up for adoption 400,000+..Before you come after me ..I have to tell you this..my husband and I adopted a newborn baby 37 years ago ..so just keep that thought to yourself🥰. I try not to give mean comments.. 🤔..but it really does bother me when I see things that I can’t make sense of 🤔..thank you Emilie and Josh for your open hearts and love you share for each other and this unconditional love you have for these kids.. I am praying that things will work out for you guys to be together soon ..

The are all grown up now and happily married so Emily and Josh you will get there and all of you will be together soon keep pushing josh we can see how much Emily and you love each other and love the kids I pray for you all.😘😘😘😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏xxxxxx

I disagree with you on that …. *don’t see color* . You have to see color because that’s what makes us different.. we are equal but not the same.. that make us unique. You have skincare/ hair care/ and if culture is different you have to take into consideration THAT difference. You will never be able to experience or feel what a black person feels ..when they’re shunned or treated differently, only because of their skin color.. which I’m sure you’ve seen, ..but when you love someone you hurt when they hurt and feel joy when they do.. Of course, you love them unconditionally as a family ‘, but you must see color in order to have a healthy and realistic view of multicultural family living in a cruel world where everyone is not on the same page. ❤
@175muffin2 жыл бұрын
@@natly3123 I did not mean any malice I love my children I was well aware of the differences that’s why I went to research all these things and had friends who went through how to treat there Hair skin culture and treated them correctly I found your message offence we are all the same so why have you come at me or would you have preferred these children to be passed around in care home or in a loving home a good education and able to make a difference in the world. I had all this in the 1970/1980s and fort for them then and will continue to fight.
@dope79282 жыл бұрын
I think what @natly meant is you have to acknowledge the skin colour differences. Very often white people say "we don't see colour " because you fear being branded as racists. Acknowledging someone else's race is not racist, infact it highlights our differences, and black kids with white parents often struggle with identy because they live in spaces that don't acknowledge there blackness. When white people play colour blindness with people of colour, they also unconsciously invalidate their struggles,

Thanks so much for making this video Emilie and Josh. Many people, especially new people, needed to hear more about you guys. I do understand why Josh doesn’t talk a lot ..I would be like that if I lived in his country..It’s only natural ..that it takes him longer to speak ..because he does have to think about what he’s going to say..English is not his native language. Josh you are doing great with speaking English and expressing yourself.. and we enjoy seeing you in these videos and also you sending Emilie updates from Uganda. My heart skips a few beats when I see how much those kids love you guys and vice versa; when interacting with them .. both of you.. it is self-explanatory.. the love is there🥰. @jacobe5495 Жыл бұрын
"waking up to what the day brings" may be sustainable in Uganda and elsewhere. Still, it would be hard to maintain such a lifestyle in most Western countries, America especially. You either have a plan or drown in bills, become homeless, and live off the welfare system. Life in America and arguably other Western countries is anxiety-inducing. The key is finding a balance between the fast pace work life and personal life, which requires having some form of a plan. Making decisions on a whim will likely lead to dire outcomes-peace, love, life.
