I’m going back to your older videos and enjoying them. Your cats loving your spread out fabric to lie on made me think of my two Westie dogs. Whenever I spread out the pieces of quilt sandwich on my floor to pin baste, they have to lie down on it watching diligently as I pin baste. They want to be part of the process too. I’m enjoying your videos. I’m in Arizona, USA, in the desert. Your homely house and garden are so beautiful.

I have to confess, I don’t quilt. I don’t have the patience for it. But love the idea of it. I don’t spin, but I do crochet. I don’t garden, hate it really, but grow a nice dozen or so roses and have loads of succulents to “almost” care for, Hate to cook, but have a few specialty dishes from years ago. That being said, I simply love watching your ambitions, your talent, your attitude, your calm and refreshing outlook, and overall generosity to share with us. Don’t get me wrong, I am a prolific painter and might have spent my whole life in pursuit of it if I hadn’t a family to raise and work for, but it’s a strong passion and now in retirement, am obsessed by it. You give me a wonderful glimpse into your passions. Thank you for sharing with us. A great legacy for us all to enjoy.

“Pool Noodles” are used to hold up tall boots. But, also to fill your batting on one, roll your backing on another pool noodle. Then, roll your quilt top on another pool noodle. Easy this way.

Oh my heart broke all over again, just as yours did. I lost my mother in February 2017, and I still remember the pain of that first Mother's Day, and then the first of her birthdays without her. My Mother was quite a hard woman and was always a Mother first and foremost. But as we aged together, we became fast friends, and at the last, best friends. I miss her terribly, still. I was fascinated with your reveal on the origins of the day. It never occurred to me to research that aspect of life - thank you!

Interesting pins never seen those before. The quilt pins in the states are smaller 1” and not bent. I usually machine quilt my quilts, I have rented time on a long arm in my neighborhood quilt store, and dream of owning my own long arm one day. They take up a lot of room (which I don’t have) so I am looking for one that comes with a table so I can sit instead of standing. One of these days…..

Norma is so sweet. She probably thinks you are talking to her, since no one is there but you. Ever notice when you are talking on the phone and the cat all of a sudden wants your attention? Yeah, it's funny, but mine have always done this. If you spread out a little blanket just for her, or put one in a cardboard box close to you, or on a chair next to you, while you're doing a project she may leave you alone so you can get them done without interference, and they can feel connected to you, and every once in a while pat their head and they are content. Cats love soft, cozy and warm places, and with all your wonderful fabrics and wool they are in kitty heaven, but don't understand why they can't have it! lol... Glad to see you enjoying Mothers Day, and reflecting on memories past while doing something you love with the sunshine pouring through the windows, makes for a very lovely day.

I had to do some creative repairs, but I was not able to fix all of the holes.

Hi Kate, A video as if it were made for me. I love quilts. I have not yet sewn a single, but have all the "ingredients" at home. Fabric, batting, needles and thread. I love to watch quilt shows on KZbin. Especially older patterns I find beautiful. How nice if you want to report on quilting every now and then. You know what would be great? If you would show some other quilts, or photos of it. In Germany there is a woman who has a blog and who has been quilting for many years, also by hand. I love her posts. At the beginning of your video I was somewhat irritated by your mention of the mother's Day. You explained it. In Germany, Mother's Day is only on the second Sunday in May. Now I have one more question: Do you sell finished woven wool too? If so, I'd like some. Finally, thank you very much for your beautiful videos. I love them all. All my greetings send you Claudia from Germany.
