Seven Kings had a quite different vibe to it, I really didn't know how it would end, never seemed obvious at all, and damn the whole plot is very good and appreciable. And that ending... ho my, well done to everybody who worked on the show and the movie !

7 Kings wasn't perfect (alot had to be left out) but damn as a conclusion to Uhtred's story it was perfect. as a continueation of the last kingdom series it's okay but if you look at it as purely an Uhtred focused story then it is a masterpiece. the show has always done that when you think about it, in the books Uhtred's development and characterisation takes a backseat to the England unification plot but in the show it's the other way round, with the England plot infact being the sub-plot and Uhtred and his journey is the centre focus of the show. the film is very much in the same spirit as the show.

Too many surprises, also did Athelstan dirty. The new writer who entered in S4, simply decided based on two small pieces of evidence that he was gay.

Everyone's complaints about the Movie are just simply Invalid IMO. The show piloted on BBC with the plan of 5 seasons (As there was only 10 books at the time)to bring us The Saxon Stories on screen. Netflix then picked it up so we could witness this Masterpiece of a series. 3 books were then written and published which is why there was a decision to make a Movie to wrap up The Saxon Stories. Many actor's Contacts end or actor's we're busy with other projects when the movie came about which is why we had Off screen death's or Characters not appearing. (This an ADAPTION like all shows/flims based on novels Are,Have and Always will be) THE LAST KINGDOM was simply Magnificent throughout. It's cemented it's place into my top 5. (as I expected it to be with most) Stay Blessed ARSELINGS. DESTINY IS ALL!

Uhtred sword of Uhtred. The film was nice, it was never going to be perfect and that's OK, because the series was already complete.

Nearly a great Film, if a bit rushed to cover the historically significant events. However, the progressive funding obviously insisted that the primary theme running right through a Film that was supposedly covering the creation of England, had to be that the first King of England batted for the other side. There is no concrete evidence for that, just tenuous supposition to feed a modern narrative. That was one part of the fiction that should have been omitted, but then the funding would have been nearly impossible to secure. However, that was too high a price to pay, no matter how richly it rewarded the original author, the actors, the crew or the Film's writer.
