All of the Big5 exclusive H&K knives made by Benchmade are can be bought on sale for under $20. The Flak, Unsub, Citation and Espionage are all solid budget knives. The deep carry clips are particularly nice.

I have a CRKT squid in my pocket, and it's been there well over a year carrying it every day. I have spyderco's, kershaws, but the squid is a tank. It's comfortable, light, never had the lock fail, easy to sharpen and takes a very keen edge (but will dull after a lot of cutting) and it's cheap so I don't have to worry about it too much. I even left it in my pocket through TSA security so it had to be mailed back from the airport. That cost $22, more than the knife was worth. I didn't regret it though.

I daily carry a Kershaw Kuro and it has been a great performing spring-assisted knife. An additional interesting find at Walmart are the $5 Ozark Trail pocketknives. I picked one up with scalloped G-10 handles and a stainless blade it works just fine.

I have the shuffle as a beater knife. The lock bar has failed twice while prying vines off my shed. Thankfully my fingers were clear of the blade when it happened. Still a great budget knife. CRKT has the Hammond cruiser an Crawford design that are large folders for 19.99.

"Let's talk about budget knives" (first 1:00 is entirely focusing on a $100+ knife and saying "this is not ultra budget"). WTF is this
@CanadianCuttingEdge8 жыл бұрын
You are a mean tease. I saw the knife in the thumbnail pic for the video and had to see it. I have a KZbin channel and I show mostly what you call ultra low budget, I just call it budget, I guess because I have an ultra low budget to spend on knives, due to a tiny disability pension. Anyhow, I have found that Sanrenmu makes MANY super budget blades, not just the 7010, many that are purely original looking, but the are almost all under 3 inches for the blade. They make the Chinese Sypderco blades like the Resilience trough Ambitious and their insect line by the way, and I like those over the Byrd series and spend the extra few bucks to get those instead as they are still budget for me, and available at Walmart.com (for Americans only). The 7010 has become the icon for great low budget blades to be sure. For larger blades I go to Ganzo no questions asked. Sometimes I go for an Enlan. Those 3 are all Chinese companies. I LOVE my Opinel #7 stainless. I think a lot of the low priced Kershaws are very nice too. CRKT is my other main American brand, other than Kershaw and the made in China Spyderco blades. You have some great blades there. Thanks for highlighting them, even though it took my a few months to find this video.

was going to recommend the CKRT Drifter (was under $20 when I bought it from Bladehq) but the prices have gone up thus strong contender for EDC under $20 the Swiss Army Tinker (Phillips) or the cork screw version, the Spartan. A knife that is multi functional includes two blades in case one has problem(s) or wishes to save a blade for certain tasks. I use the big blade for food prep while EDC cutting would be smaller blade.

What do you think of the Smith and Wesson Border Guard? I know the original price is $40, but it usually goes on sell for about $15-$20, and you get to choose if you want serration or not, and if you want a drop point or a tanto tip. Also, it comes with excellent texturing, a seat belt cutter, and a window smasher. I have one, but I want to know your opinion.

Here in Europe the American brands (even the ones made in China) are much more expensive. On the other hand, we can get Opinels for the price equivalent to their number (I got my Opinel 9 for 9€ shipped etc.) and Mora knives for half as much as you pay in the US, so it's not terrible. For that reason, Opinels and Moras are the only knives I own, and I'm quite happy
@xenonram8 жыл бұрын
You can usually order knives from the U.S. and if they don't have the shopping option for it, call them. They will usually ship internationally. If the shopping option on their website is too expensive, call them. They will usually offer a cheaper option. And most of the time it will get through without getting picked for VAT checks.

just make sure to keep it limited to 1 knife per shipment. They usually target large and expensive packages.

Great video on budget knives. I have a video request. Budget knives that look nice. Knives that dont scream tactical tacticool. Bone or stag handle knives that are lite and come with a pocket clip. I have not found to many of these but i have changed all of my blades to have a outdoor look instead of the camando camo that is so popular. A knife that looks good but one that you can beat the crap out of for every day use.. 20-50 dollar range.

Great video for new knife guys. I think that most, however, will eventually sell these off and upgrade (thats what i did). Really happy you didnt include stupid Ganzos (gonna get hate for that), cause i hate everything Ganzos are and stand for and i think it would be best if all true knife guys (guys that care about design, fit and finish, quality, durability, materials, construction, etc...) would just ignore them. I do agree with what you said about the Sanrenmu. As a Sebenza owner i dont think these knives are even worth comparing and that anyone who is is considering buying a Sebenza would agree. Would love to see more higher end vids though! Looking forward to the Bm review. Also i would suggest you check out the Mantra series for review. Great value there for an amazing little knife.
