I just made my first pole for rhaphidophora I'm so happy ! I thought to put a pole running down the middle, but it was still wobbly. You made me think to also put a pole going down the back. Tysm it is much sturdier now!

@@TheLecaQueen Yes I did, but I left enough stake coming out of the top so if I pull really hard I can get it to slide out or put another moss pole on it. It's just hard plastic and pretty skinny. I put a wood one on the back though.

Lovely ❤️ I just discovered your youtube canal a few hours ago approx 7 hours, watching continuously, can't stop catching sight of your magic plants and your work. I never saw anything like that, but I finally understand why my plant was growing so bigger and tall but no matter how much I was trying to give her the support( attaching her to the stairs) she collapsed so many times and broke my heart. Starting again, giving away pieces from it to people I know. Thank you so much, for your videos.God answer to people,I guess this time through you.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

You could probably get away with just using some kind of stake not necessarily a moss pole. You could also hide the zip ties at the back and tuck them in so they are not visible, colour match them as well. Good luck.

@TheLecaQueen
@TheLecaQueen 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting. I have poles in both soil and leca. Depending on how you water your poles and the temperature where you are, they may dry out pretty fast. Ideally the poles need to be kept moist. The ideal conditions for root formation need to be met and a crucial one is moisture. I greatly encourage you to keep your poles moist if you want the aerial root system to develop quickly and be extensive.

I found some three types of plastic pots on Amazon that are somewhat similar size and shape. Two of them are types of Clear Orchid Pots. One of the orchid pots has vertical slits that I think will work as is. The other Orchid pot is also clear with bottom drainage but the walls are solid. I plan to use a wood burning tool to melt holes in the sides. The third type of container is a bit smaller than shown but still much taller than it is wide. It’s actually a clear deli container in the 32oz size. Obviously these have no drainage holes at all so that would need to be added.

Hi! I feel like for me the problem is more so the pot falling over rather than the mosspole, if you know what I mean. I do (almost) all things you've mentioned in the video and as a result my mosspoles feel very steady. But the problem for me is the actual pot. I just extended one of my mosspoles and I'm scared it might fall, now that there's more weight on it. I did put it in a big ceramic coverpot, but that's not really helping all too much. Maybe if it fits a coverpot perfectly it might give more stability than when the coverpot is much bigger like how I have it now? I'm not sure...

Hi .. I love the moss poles!! I am preparing myself to transition some plants to LECA and moss poles but I was wondering can I put my cane Begonias on a moss pole? 🤔 Do you have any information on Begonias? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you for your kind words and for watching and subscribing, much appreciated! I have seen a Begonia on a moss pole. I have not tried it as I have a pretty small Begonia. Something to try in the future!

@Roots_Leaves_Reads, background music is very distracting for people with sensory disorders. We were not able to enjoy and benefit from such a useful information. Please refrain from background music.

I am so sorry to hear that. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I value your feedback. This is such a steep learning curve and I am learning so much from people like yourself who take the time to comment. Thank you for watching.

@@TheLecaQueen Thank you for understanding. People with brain injury, learning disabilities, spectrum disorders like autism , attention deficit etc. have difficulty processing information and suffer from sensory overloads. They have difficulty differentiating and distinguishing important information when there is constant input of multiple sounds is involved. If they try hard to focus under such circumstances they suffer bad sensory overloads in the form of headaches, dizziness etc.

Thank you for the feedback. Those were my early days and I have evolved to no music. I might redo this video. How does that sound?

That is true. What you guys call N'Joy in the US we call Snow Queen in Australia.I am pretty sure it is a marketing thing but.. who knows. I call it what people know it as where I live.

I might be just being incredibly stupid, but you seem to have made an 11 minute video about How To Stop Moss Poles From Falling Over, but you haven’t said how to do it. You advised to use a heavy outer pot, which will help stop the whole plant and pot falling over. You haven’t said how to stop just the poke falling over. How do you keep the moss pole upright in the pot? And how can you make a 12-minute video called How To Keep Moss poles Upright without once saying how to do it?

Just to be clear, I want to know how you have secured your poles inside the pot? Is the metal pole attached to the pot in some way? And now the more I think about it, I would rather get an answer to my second question- how on earth can you make a 12-minute video about How To Stop A Moss Pole from falling over without actually telling us how to do it? What was going through your brain when you reviewed this after you posted it?

Are the poles attached to the inside of the pot in anyway? Are the poles wedged in with stones or aggregate at the bottom of the pot? Do the metal support rods go through hole in the bottom of the pot maybe? Are the metal poles attached to the pot in some one? Your plants are all beautiful but you’ve just made a 12-minute video showing off how stable they all are on their moss poles without saying how you do it. Maybe the title shouldn’t be “How To Keep Moss Pole Upright” it should just be “Here’s 12-minutes Viewing Some Beautiful Plants With Their Solid Upright Poles And No Explanation About How To Keep Them Upright. No Explanstion At All”

Hello thank you for watching and commenting. I think we have a difference in opinion on what falling over means, which I think is ok. I would like to clarify a few things before I can respond to your questions. By falling ove do you mean how to secure the moss pole in the nursery pot so it is straight and stable? Also are you growing in soil or leca. Thanks.
