Hey everyone! I’m sharing the supplies I use for my ELA block! I hope you like the video and the new style we tried out this week. As much as I’d love to share how I will be organizing supplies, I don’t even know if I’m going back yet, and many times an idea that I have works great in my head but not great in the classroom. The best that we can do is adhere to the guidelines, plan out 3 possible solutions and be flexible. Remember our first goals as teachers is to keep our kids safe and make sure they are loved. When we do that, the learning will happen. ❤️ stay safe and wishing you all a lovely week.

While you're doing small group and conferences, aside from the students that you've just released from small group, what are your other students doing? Reader's Workshop/ Independent Reading/ Centers ? You know they are so many names for it all now days! Thanks for the video. I'm a Math Teacher, yet this was super helpful.

Do you have a color coding key for your highlighters and/or sticky flags in yourTPT store? I feel like I saw this in an earlier video of you making the box kits. Thanks!

At what grade level do you teach students to annotate? Do you have a created guide for annotation? I teach 8th grade science and 8th AVID.

Hi Bridget, I have tables like you. I always did shared supplies and my heart breaks that we will not be able to do it anymore. How will you space out the children 6 feet apart all facing the same way?. I always use seat sacks but they are fabric and I am not sure we will be allowed to have them. I thought about clipping a basket to the bottom of their chair but then they will not be able to put their chairs up if there are supplies in the bottom. We have cubbies but that will be a lot of up and down and take a long time for everyone to get everything. Do you have any suggestions? I teach second grade in NY. I am wondering how you will actually set up your classroom and what guidelines you will have in place. I can't see how the children will even be able to read books in the classroom if they can't use shared supplies. This is such a scary time.

I will most likely go back to the old pencil box. Each student will have their highlighters, pencils, index cards, sticky notes and page flags. I’m will replenish as needed throughout the year.

Not sure if this falls in the guidelines but I could possibly wipe down the containers and stack them at the end of the Dey in my room somewhere.

Hi Bridget!! This is an amazing video. You and Michelle/Pocketful of Primary are fantastic teachers to look up to!! I want to meet you both in person. Here is a question. What do you do with students with learning disabilties to make sure they are successful? I was wondering how teachers do that especially during Covid.
