Vi's death during the burglary most likely got Jayce banished or imprisoned, assuming he survived. His research would've been destroyed as Heimerdinger intended in the prime timeline. Hextech never would've been invented. As for how Zaun and Piltover ended up living a peaceful and prosperous co-existence, I think it's a combination of Vi's death potentially leading the council to reconsider its views on Undercity, seeing how things were so desperate that children from the Undercity would resort to a dangerous smash n' grab to get by. Silco most likely read Vander's note, perhaps also a result of Vi's death that gave him a moment of reflection. Having reconciled, shimmer was also never invented, or at least never refined into a weapon against Piltover. Then consider prime universe's Heimerdinger having been in this alternate timeline for the last 3 and half years or so, probably had a hand in bridging the two cities.

Considering that Vi, Jayce, and Cait were closest to the explosion there's a good chance that all three died in the alternate timeline.

@@zissoulander I think Jayce living or dying would've been irrelevant but if Cait had died too, there's no way in H3LL Zaun would've prospered. Cassandra, and by extension the council, would've blockade the bridges and had enforcers patrolling the Undercity around the clock.

@@charlestonjew7587 Valid. Then perhaps either 1.) Jayce also died in the explosion, 2.) Jayce was imprisoned, or 3.) Jayce unalived himself because Victor didn't stop him in this timeline. Any of these options means that Hextech was not developed.

My favorite best episode of the already incredibly brilliant series. (1) The slow mo dance scene was at 3 frames per second which hints at Ekko's time reversal limit of 4 seconds (2) Notice gorgeous Jinx/ Powder has the same natural dance moves like her mother. This probably explains how she noticed Ekko's moves because she got that dance instinct from her mama. (3) The NECKLACE Ekko leaves with Jinx/ Powder has a blue rose which is symbolic of unattainable love due to the fact that blue roses do not exist hinting at Ekko's love for THIS version of Jinx/ Powder but he can not stay with her no matter how much he wants to because he has to return to his own timeline. I heard that if you looked very closely at that necklace, you will see the faces of Jinx/ Powder and Ekko within the image of the blue rose. (4) The context in the lyrics of the dance song (French song) is a story of lovers who can be together due to how chaotic they are to each other despite having feelings for each other. (5) On this episode 7,. Ekko's story theme is "What could have been" while Jayce's story theme is "What should NOT be". (6) In this Ekko's alternate timeline, Silco "found the will to forgive" re-establishing his brotherhood with Vander because of the LETTER from Vander in Season 1.

The idea of Jayce and Ekko having a conversation about their quite different alternate universe experiences made me think of Angel with Cordelia and Fred in Pylea. "Oh they made her a princess in a day" Fred "oh.... they didn't do that for me. Sigh"

The universe isn't better because there was no hextech. Heimerdinger was able to help the undercity for 3 years and help connect the 2 factions. He created things to make the air better and was probably able to convince the council for peace.

@@TheLexiCrowd It was the reason Jayce originally kicked him off the council in 1x6. He said "and what have you done?" We find out that Jayce, in this instance was right and this episode proved it. By the way... have been a fan of yours since your first day reviewing Buffy.

@@ThePonderer Heimer was able to take his future knowledge of what was going to happen and stop that by helping the undercity get what they needed. Hextech didn't create shimmer. Heimer was able to get everyone working together.

Yordles are weird and semi-immortal, so there is a chance Heimerdinger will eventually just reform totally fine back in the yordle homeland, but the show intentionally leaves it unclear if this is one of the few ways he could be permanently killed. So at the very least, he is gone for now, but maybe not forever Either way, it's a good ending point for his arc, considering back in season 1 episode 4 he did say that the greatest accomplishment for a teacher isnt anything he could do himself, it's making sacrifices for the future accomplishments of his students

The reason Piltover and Zaun are thriving is because Heimerdinger worked hard those 3+ years he was there to help out. Add to that no Hextech creation because a kid died causing Jayce to likely be banished from Piltover (and also, since we know he would kill himself in the original timeline, it's likely he ended up doing that as well), and the greed of the council is also a lot more in check There's no Ambessa throwing fire on the flame since Hextech doesn't exist either

On the beard thing, it depends on the person. My dad can't grow a full beard because he was stung in the face over 20 times by wasps when he was younger. My twin brother can only grow a mustache and chin beard. If I completely shaved, it would take me about 2 months to grow aboard that long and thick. I have friends that could do it in a couple of weeks max.

This episode makes me both sad and hopeful. The fact that they fixed so much in this world in just a few years makes the inaction of the council in the main timeline that much worse! But... also maybe means things could also still reach this level of improvement in just a few years from now, if Piltover can finally get its shit together??

@@TheLexiCrowd so you can release it on weekend instead of just skipping one week or the ones that are scheduled on weekend (Lost) has an advantage over the ones that are scheduled during the week. i mean it's not a problem if some days you can't log in a load, but please just don't fully skip that realease. Do it when you can. YOu released 3 Arcane episodes in 3 consectuve days. Why not do the same for Game of Thrones if you have skipped a week?
