It's so BEAUTIFUL the girl put on the glasses at the end, she learned that it wasn't about imitating Nami, but being inspired by her, while staying true to her own self. Not only did she avoid and trick the marines, but she got to see Nami far away, smth that wouldn't have been possible without the glasses 😭❤️🍊

The girl at the end mimics the way that Nami left Coco village by dashing past everyone and grabbing their wallets before jumping onto the deck of the Merry, she does the same thing to grab her letter and jump onto the Navy ship!! Also when the girl is looking at Nami, it's between the waves before they crash in front of her view: Nami means wave in Japanese so I feel this was an intentional minuscule detail as well

I loooove the story of the marine brothers and how they reacted to the marineford fight. They are marines, but not even close to the same level as these high level fighters with haki and devil fruit powers. The scene where they have tons of problem in the ice from Aokiji and pushed around from Kumas lasers, back to back with eachother as they see Crocodile and Mihawk on each end running towards them, they are nothing more than flies on the battlefield of monsters. I looove the animation of Luffy fighting off the marines with his quick rubber body, showing that he is really hard to hit because his body is so elastic and unpredictable. Really shows that while in the original series where you follow the original cast of characters, most enemies are strong or can be dangerous. But they can fight or in worst case run. While a cannonfodder marine or random civilian seeing a guy creating meteors of lava, freezing oceans to ice or breaking the island with earthquakes really puts the devil in devil fruits for them. Had tons of fun seeing how the common people and common marines would react when they see and meet these monsters of the world. How they talk about them in the pub as if these are legends, just seeing Mihawk at a distance is a huge deal. While the anime shows the viewers these cool shots and characters, these marines probably didn´t get to see that much except for a random cannonfodder pirate. The animation was great, the story following the girl was fun and the perspective of these characters towards the strawhats was the best. The part when Rayleigh appears and just stands there... they all like "oh shit, didn´t know he was alive! Well... let us go around him, even if it takes 30 minutes to do...". They have only probably heard stories of Rayleigh, but they ain´t gona try anything towards him. I want more of these stories, such good worldbuilding.

when Oda said "I considered not taking that route" means that he might have wanted to finish One Piece as planned when he said he would end it in 5 years or so HOWEVER Luffy saved us from that decision and I am so grateful to him.

This was an interesting project to animate for the anime’s 25th anniversary, & here are some interesting about the voice actors which have voiced other characters from the series like - Nami’s fan is voiced by Kokoro Kikuchi who is the voice for Toko & Reina while the old lady with her at the start was voiced by Luffy’s va Mayumi Tanaka - The 2 brother Marines: the older brother voiced by Yasuyuki Kase the voice of Big News Morgans (also a fan of Luffy) while the younger is voiced by Hiroki Takahashi the voice of Queen & Bill - The 3 drunk men in the bar talking about who is the strongest swordsman are the Zoro fan is Yasuhiro Takato (voices Bepo, Zepo, Buffalo, Butchie, Mr.9, Peterman, Satori, Hotori & Kotori), the Franky fan is Ryouta Takeuchi (voices Bavarois), & the Mihawk fan is Takuya Kirimoto (voices Cracker) - Benevolent King of the Waves is voiced by Jiro Saito who also voices Orlumbus, Snack, & Rampo - The woman in the bookstore is voiced by Yuka Komatsu who also voices Sally Isntoinette & Momousagi / Gion

It makes it a parallel to the Marine Luffy fan because as he said, "If Gold Roger didn't create the pirate era. If Fire Fist Ace hasn't been caught. If we were not called into this war. If I didn't get stuck in the giant leg. If I didn't hear his voice. These little things that happen changes my life little by little.", which the same is now happening to the girl. What if she didn't get the 3D2Y message? What if she didn't lose her letter to a marine? What if she didn't get saved and helped by the older brother marine? What if she didn't get stopped by that annoying marine? What if she didn't know about the secret weapon whereabouts? What if the Brook fangirl didn't accidentally save her from the marine? What if the magazines and posters didn't land on the little brother's face? All of this little things that happen changes her life little by little

I loved this so much! I think my favorite was the older Marine brother. I loved that his love of Luffy was so personal. I loved the girl too. I loved that we never got a clear shot of the Straw Hats, except for that one fan of Brook’s but she’s a fan of Brook the singer, not Brook the pirate and she wouldn’t connect to who Chopper is.

Heads up, they are not crowding to watch the Marineford war. This is 2 years after the war, they are crowding because it’s Soul Kings last concert before going away. All those guys are fans. The only time we see the war is in flashback form for the brothers. The story starts off giving enough context to the war to strengthen only their storyline.
