If anyone has problems with these amps it’s a skill issue. I’ve literally switched over from sundown SAE & SALT. I am always amazed how so many people want to be loud,but don't understand what it really takes to get there. J.P. you have to tell them the truth onnce and for all. Some bass heads have to understand that big amps require big electrical. People need to actually see it in real time to get it in their heads. You probably have to make a full video on this,giving different examples on applications. 💯💯💯👍
@paulfretz67772 ай бұрын
All someone really needs to do is look at you tube at guys like Steve Meade, John Price, and so many others. If they would pay attention to the wiring instead of the flex, it would be obvious. Another thing they don’t understand is the cheaper aluminum coated with copper wire is not as efficient as pure copper which is indicated by the cost difference. This wire won’t carry the same amperage when comparing same for same wire sizes.

It got down to the point where we were having to run specialty screws that the bits could not be bought at a local hardware store. You had to order them to keep people from screwing with their own shit Because they would want to turn it up to the max instead of learning to run it where it was properly set the reason I do not do it anymore like the old saying goes you can’t fix stupid and this day and age there’s no way you can fix it

I read reviews on different amps all of the time. Something you read comments of customers saying they were sent 2 or 3 defective replacement amps. So many factors average audio guys don't know. Not just needing bigger power supplies for amps like these, but matching wattages with speakers & amps. Even understanding ohm loads. A local guy purchased a new 2 channel highs amp (did 360x2 rms @2ohm) for low wattage horns and tweeters. Originally said he just needed a small 2 channel. When that one went out i replaced it with a new bigger 2 channel that did 800x2 rms and he told me this one also went into protect. I told him there was no way everything was wired correctly and he felt as if i was selling him bad merchandise. I told him i would take a look at his setup. 14 tweeters and horns hooked up to 2 channel amp........all wired in parallel. Most of the tweeters and drivers were 4ohm so both channels ohm load were well under ohm. I switched that amp with a smaller 4 channel and his speakers ran with no problems. I lost not only a lot of money on the 2 new amps but a lot of time. I didn't charge him for evaluating the problem or install.

Kid's today can buy a 3000+ watt amp while working the same minimum wage job I had back in the day. We need to educate the young guys coming up, but not be angry at their ignorance. I have 3 batteries on my jp63 amplifier with a 300 amp alternator and I live in Houston tx and it passed the heat it only got up to 117 degrees and the temperature outside was 103 ?

I agree with all of this.. EXCEPT, the vibration part. If you have a heavy hitting stereo everything near that sub is going to be vibrating

JP Might have to make the amp not power on internally until it see's power at all necessary terminals!!

I've never seen n amp that requires 3 ground n 3 pos to run it, must be a seriously powerful amp, I'm just used to having 1 pos n 1 ground on mine, cool video!

This video so reminds me of a guy who did not know how to use a jack on an Audi and told me he's been doing it for years... RTFM!

1/0 is good for 125 to 170 amps depending on the type. whereas 4 gauge is only good for 70 to 95 amps depending on the type. Undersized cable or wire can and often will cause a fire, especially if you aren't properly fused.

Hey friend the other dual grounds do you run them to the secondary battery or do you ground it to the chassis….

Good video. No one talks about cable length, though. If you are going 3 feet, 3 zero gauge runs from the source is completely unnecessary. No one talks about the total resistance of the conductor. Hell, Steve Mead even had a video where he helped someone that had a zero gauge going to his fuse near the battery then had a 4 gauge from the fuse block to the battery (like 8 inches). He said that was a bottle-neck. That's not how it works. This industry is filled with people that say what to do but never say why. This stuff can pretty easily be quantified. But, yes, I do agree that so many people that do "installs" have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

Question: I have the MM1000. It is my first class D amplifier. I notice noise on the FM band of the station is weak or non-existent. Am I getting switching noise from the amplifier? It stops when I turn it off or turn the bass knob all the way down.

I learned dont matter what you have ppl will always complain about something and do nothing ppl also dont understand power current and how electronics operate

Wow thats wild its a reason for those triple inputs that amp is not getting proper voltage and will do some damgae for sure i agree jp
@Thumper683 ай бұрын
No it will get proper voltage still with just one wire it’s not able to pull amperage it needs though to perform properly.
@LatvianVideo3 ай бұрын
@@Thumper68 It wont get proper voltage, the wire will basically soak up the voltage. Recently I helped a person with their issue, amplifier turning off due to low voltage (10v at the amp) At the battery it was 13.5v, the issue was their 4 gauge wire run, after replacing it with 1/0 gauge the voltage issues went away.
@Thumper683 ай бұрын
@@LatvianVideo you don’t understand the difference between voltage and current. It will get proper voltage to power on 12.8-14.4 but not enough current to supply it’s need thus lowering the voltage. That said it can’t take anymore then you give it. The biggest issue is low voltage and current are the worst thing on electronics which shortens life significantly.
@Thumper683 ай бұрын
@@LatvianVideo that’s a current issue. Amperage draw is current.
