I have to say that you are exactly the kind of man that my youngish sons (36 and 30) have turned into. They too are kind and considerate. They go out of their way to help the elderly or in need and have been know to wander around parking lots helping people find cars they have misplaced or providing bottles of water on hot days to both people and animals that need a cold drink. They are funny and loyal to family and know that sometimes people strike out in fear, frustration or anger but that reacting back the same way isn't always what's needed. From listening to you in all of your videos I feel it's fair to say that you are the same kind of guy. I'll tell you what I've told them from birth. Never give up and never surrender. LOL Ignore the haters because there will always be more that appreciate and want to encourage you. Be careful out on the streets because it's rough out there. Cheers as always from Ontario Canada.

I had to stop the video at 11:39 and let you know how much this older lady loves to "ride" with you, through London, Heathrow, Gatwick, the good old M25 and the Mad Mile. You are kind, intelligent and know what you are doing behind the wheel. Your lingo has invaded mine and I love it!! Know that your followers love you, care about you and sometimes scared for you!! It's a terrifying thought to me to have strangers in my truck and I can carry a firearm and pepper spray to protect myself. Went and subscribed to Linzi's channel (348 subscribers now) - will watch her videos after this!! Honestly, I think I could pass the written and driving test in the UK because of you and Ashley!! Y'all are great! You did great with her. Only question, should we be sending you tea cozies for all your riders to wear? Will that now be de rigor?

Wow. What a story. Poor woman and poor you. Obviously your first instinct was to get her out of your car, because you were in shock after she attacked you. Luckily you took a moment to address the situation and realised that the lady was not well. You were extremely kind to help her. Anyone who writes vile comments should be banned from KZbin. How dare people think that it’s ok to attack people verbally like that? It should be a criminal offence. Finally, and I’m a 64 year old Nanna, so please don’t take offence, but you have beautiful hands. 🙌🤗

I think you showed great restraint in dealing with that woman. I used to drive buses and coaches and for a while I was a licenced taxi driver, and personally, if I had any problems with passengers I would flip. If I sat there and did nothing or tried to appease the person, they would get worse, so I would be out of the cab and there would be trouble. On a lighter note. Back in the 60`s I used to love that stretch of the A24. Used to occasionally go to the Tirola cafe in Dorking. And a thing there was to race from there to the Givons Grove roundabout and back. Or on a Sunday it was Rykas cafe and from there to Deepdene roundabout and as fast as possible to Givons Grove and back. The good old days. These days I drive like an old fart.

I guess letting strangers into your car always carries a risk. That said Tony, no-one should be treated the way you were on that trip. Incidents like that are a form of shock, and can have a adverse effect physically as well as mentally. Like you said, sometimes just one positive comment or conversation can have a dramatic calming effect. I've experienced this myself personally. When you're driving, you see good and bad attitudes, and the same applies to all aspects of modern life sadly. As for the horse crossing the road clip, I honestly fail to see how anyone can find fault. It was a non-event! Anyway Tony, you take care, and keep us entertained! I'll catch you on the next one! 😂

1st time writing a comment back after your video's, I was saddened by your treatment from your customer clearly there was something wrong with her, but I am more appalled by the lack of employee safeguards that Uber seem to provide to their drivers. I live in the west of London near Junction 11 at Chertsey and often travel to see my daughter between Epsom and Reigate, and I am seriously concerned about the extremely poor standards of driving the lack of common decency (saying thankyou) and no moral standing of the general driving public. Watching your videos has calmed my driving, made me more cautious of others and to not expect other road users to abide by the highway code as I do, all very sad really. Thanks for your videos I really enjoy them and the positive affect they have had on me. Keep up the great work, maybe the police might become subscribers and seek to catch the dangerous road users that seem to be in the majority out there. 👏

Here goes my ‘tuppence worth’ … I’m only 5mins in and, whilst enjoying the intro & your opening ‘preamble’, thought I’d scan thru’ the comments. I’ve yet to get to the ‘nub’ of the vid but, I know this much & will stand by it - you’re a good bloke, a kind soul & without malice - all of which is good enough for me. The comments I’ve read thus far seem to bear this out and, whilst it’s not necessary (you can look after & stick up for yourself, of course, I believe ) I’d defend you against any detractors (especially ‘virtue signallers’, ‘numpties’ & the like). So, on to the remainder of the vid where I hope to partake of a (metaphorical) shot whenever I cross off a phrase on my imaginary LDC ‘bingo card’. It’s equally as much fun as the bingo cards played when watching (1) Graham Norton on Eurovision and (2) McGann & Richard E Grant in the movie ‘Withnail & I’ … the latter of which is really dangerous (basically, you have to take a drink of whatever they drink in the movie - except for the lighter fuel scene. Not recommended. ‘Spliff’ optional, I guess). Keep calm & carry on, Tone.😉✌️

Thank you for sharing your experience. What I would have done is make a phone call to the Police. She could pose a threat to others or herself. There is also the chance she may report you for something, like assault or pouring a cuppa. Yes you have the Camera but plod would need to follow it up and it could cost you a few days off the road. You should keep some oven gloves in the car in case you get another ride like that. Keep the road tales coming. Good stuff.

I think you did the right thing in stopping and getting out of the car and calming yourself down. There are people who said you should have reported her to the police anyway but I assume you dont know her name or address. And only Uber would know. One thing that concerns me is thexposition of the camera on your windscreen that you have no cobtrol over. The camera appears to be in the swept area of your wipers and thus obscuring a vital view and its position could be illegal.
@stephencope71782 күн бұрын
Tony....you have every right to decide who gets into your car. Perhaps, as a precaution, you meet them and if you approve, then lead them to the car and open the door for them and allow them to get in, then close the door (a little bit of chivalry there!) Then obtain an accurate description of where they wish to go. This might not have prevented what happened though, as this woman obviously has mental issues. 🤔

Not a passenger, but.... I was only a part time driver, I also did a regular courier delivery route (and another job); as I was approaching at one address to deliver a parcel, a car careered off the road in front of me, across the front garden and parked sideways across the drive, then a STARK NAKED elderly woman got out of the car and entered the house. I went round to the neighbours to see if they had contact details for the woman's family, and explained what I had just witnessed; talking to them a few weeks later, I was told her family had had her committed to a secure nursing home.

that gopro camera footage is really good, near perfect driver's point of view, could be used for explaining or teaching things, like difficult roundabouts and so on

im on ASC, autisum but when getting diognosed they couldnt decide between that or aspergers but went with Autisum. of course i'd have both. and i can't stand being on camera or having my picture taken it feels similar to being claustrophobic i just want to bolt so i can umderstand why some people would hide from camera. i myself have sent a clip in atleast i think it was your email anyway. it was an Audi being an Audi but it had no fucking wing mirrors. never seen a vehicle like it before theybwas just two sticks eitherside

Had there been a knife involved it could have been a very serious incident. Would you consider calling the police? Who knows how quickly they'd respond though.

Genuine question, to you have any mandatory safeguarding or mental health training within your profession? The passenger you picked up sounded like she may have had dementia or possibly had some form of concussion given the level of aggression and limited responses It is always a difficult one to know where the line between normal and medial assistance needed is and the instinct is to drop and go. Tis a difficult one indeed With regards to getting a professional to clean the car to then get reimbursed. Does that also cover loss of earnings while waiting for the vehicle to be cleaned? It could be off the road for days and end up doing further damage, especially urine in the seats
