Valdor may be one of the most powerful individuals in the current setting if he has an entire army of Blood Angels, pariahs, and all this in a pocket dimension that was impossible to break through without outside help, but all these great works seems to be for the benefit to the Emperor and not the Imperium which will cause a lot of death and destruction.

Small correction on the Blood Angels, friend: We don't know if they're true Geneseed sons or if Valdor made mini-Sanguinius clones. Which would piss some of the Primarchs off something fierce. But Valdor never was one for coddling feelings. And the Pariah's have daemons inside of them, Graels. And he has Custodians and a fleet of golden ships.

People forget how important he is with keeping the warp rifts closed and running the astronomicon. Valdor is one of the most underrated characters in 40k. The book you're talking about was great, Valdor and Russ interactions were always great. His hate of the primarchs, and then eventually embracing Dorn and Sanguinius as brothers... We need more Valdor

There's a lot of suggestions that Valdor is actually insane since the Emperor gave him the Apollonion spear. Horus sees it in a vision aboard the Vengeful Spirit in EnD part 2, the Alpha contingency code "Orpheaus" is the ignore or seize control of Chaos, the spear makes him learn the names and secrets of demons. I think we're going to meet a very different Valdor then from the Heresy era.

Valdor sounds a lot like Sigmar in the Age of Sigmar setting, creating a pocket dimension to retreat into and slowly building an army of super soldier divine warriors designed specifically to counter chaos. That’s interesting. I thought Valdour was creating an army to finish the War in the Webway. If a gain force was able to clear the webway and the mechanicus was able to make it stable- then the Emperor wouldn’t need to focus all of his energy to close the gate and can use it to heal himself.

The only way to finish that war is to fix the psychic seal, which is broken so unless the the Emperor told him how, it's going to stay that way. Alternatively the Eldar has to find the last crone sword which Slaanesh is probably using it as one of her buttplugs in her palace, reason is the complete artifact could apparently control the webway

I think the most grimdark part of 40K isn't the warp it's talent. In 40K if you're born with enough talent the only thing that can stop you is someone born with even more talent. And as far as I can tell there's no way to get more talent then what you were born with in 40k. The entire setting of 40K is basically these ultra talented individuals waging war with each other using anyone who is not as talented as them being used as pawns in their war.

Head cannon: Custodes are Men of Gold. Emps searches out genetic throwbacks to the men of gold and genetically alters them to, as best he can for each, return them to the full status. Valdor being the best emps could conceive of managing or perhaps actually perfecting with the genetic manipulation he was capable of.

I think that the King and Orpheus are two separate entities. The king is obviously Valdor, but Orpheus I think is Alpharius playing out the Orpheus protocol to fight chaos directly like at the end of the SoT. Imo it's Alpharius and Valdor working together. @Man_Emperor_of_Mankind yup, the Emperor had been alive for atleast 14000 years before he launched the great crusade. He must have had kids many times in his long life, especially in premodern times. His genes are already able to give great abilities, which is why the primarchs each have inherited some of his gifts. Clearly his descendents must still be around and clearly the Emperor must have experimented on them atleast a few times. Transforming them into Custodes and Astartes to study the effects, perhaps to weaponise them.

Old rumor. Valdor and Leman were apparently bosom buddies with great respect for each other and both devoted to the Emperor. Valdor and Leman both laid down their positions and disappeared, Valdor to some unknown place and Russ into the Warp for obscure reasons. Rumor: Valdor is trying to learn Enuncia (sp?) to be able to reform the Emperor's soul and put it in his new or regenerated body. Russ is searching for the "Tree of Life" (unknown artifact or maybe Issha (sp?), Eldar goddes of life captured by Nurgle) in Nurgle's Garden to ressurect/regenerate the Emperor's body. Correction to your lore: The Custodes are part of the Imperial Household. The peons are what you describe them, except they are supposed to be able to lead and improvise in the field. This responsibility grows as the rank of the Custodes rises. They are trained to act in the Emperor's name, as the Emperor's advisors and devil's advocates for the Emperor when necessary. In public, yes, mainly unthinking soldiers, especially in ceremonial situations, like the Brit's royal guards that stand watch, but are trained to be deadly defenders of the crown.

Sure. Well there isn't really that much to explain but essentially Emperor thought the so called "staff" of the Imperial palace to how to make them, it involves heavy genetic alterations with no surgeries involved, that is why Custodes are technically taken as infants. Emperor didn't make all of the Custodes alone, but Valdor is his masterwork. Every other Custodes is made in the Imperial Palace but the thing is that the process is really slow, for some taking even hundreds of years, the subjects become Immortal.

I’m more a fan of the theory that it is actually Rogal Dorn who is the King in Yellow, and that he is doing these things on the orders of Biggie Smalls. There’s also some theories that both Dorn and Valdor are the KiY and are working together to secure the webway, allow Biggie to die so he can be reborn (Perpetual-privilege, yo) and even possibly move the Imperial Palace and all to a new planet that is more like our current earth than 30&40k’s Terra - one with, you know, water and fertile soil and all.

A slight correction - The Imperial Creed is the one about worshipping the God Emperor promulgated by the Cult Imperialis - the Imperial Truth is the atheistic belief in science promulgated by the Emperor of Mankind during the Unification Wars and the Great Crusades. I think the Empror can't reform without all of his soul being present. I think the reason he's split into so many voices and it's hard for him to do anything is because his soul is schattered and is missing a peice. Once the star child is found in the warp and the golden throne is switched off allowing him to die, he can be reborn.

Most importantly, it's where the Astronomican is based. If it falls, FTL travel through Warp will be impossible. And most importantly, unless they pull up with some Necron anti-Warp device that has suddenly been developed, that new Warp Rift will only make things worse.

I cannot give the time setting without looking it up, but I remember in one of the novels they saw the Tyranids as a future event. They had no idea what they were. The book heavily implied a link to the minotaurs 'space marine' chapter, who are the high lords personal chapter with the ability to totally dominate other space marines. Basically, minotaurs are Astartes/thunder warrior hybrids. Terra still has access to thunder warriors

It's not really surprising when you consider the world was stuck in perpetual war for 5000 years with many different warlords, clans or nations waging war on each other for control while the ecosystem is slowly getting destroyed. After the Unification War, it became the most overpopulated world in the entire Imperium with population hitting the quadrillion, demanding most of the spaces to be used for accommodation along with setting headquarters from different institutes of the newborn empire. And mind you the Imperial Palace takes up at least the entirety of the Himalayas, it's so large that when the assassin temple was having a little riot after the War of the Beast, they had nukes going off in the Palace and it was still fine In short: circumstances prevented any efforts to restore Terra's ecosystem

Is he acting independently from the rest of the Custodes and Sister of Silence? Fabius Bile has created a race of superhuman (both males and females). Cawl created the Primaris and, more important, Alpha Primus. What if there is a great mixing of the lines in the future, like in the timeline of The Lord of The Ring, where, in the end, Aragon and Arwen mix together all the lines of the Great Houses of Elves and Men?

There is really no saying what would happen, but I think Valdor has set the Emperors resurrection as a priority at the moment, even if it might cost the Imperium ,because as the Emperor said in the Master of Mankind - Empires can be rebuilt.

I don't think the King in Yellow is Valdor. I think it's the godhead created by the emperor worship rather the person of the emperor. Where does the book actually name valdor as the king in yellow? I don't think it does.

If it isn't Valdor, that is going to be such a massive letdown, it would likely ruin the trilogy. The reveal of Valdor is the cliffhanger ending for the 2nd book.

The books specifically call out Constantine Valdor as being the first two words to the King in Yellow's true name. A true name that fills an entire book in the form of a code cypher, and was supposedly written down by one of the first inquisitors (who also went rogue and disappeared) The author also has stated that he had to go way up the food chain to get permission to take the story where he wanted, and was very surprised that he was given permission

something you overlooked is the spear... No not that spear, it's twin brother. Remember that the spear that Valdor carries has a mirrored twin. While Valdor's shows him visions of the person he wounds this twin shows the person that's been wounded visions of their own truth. This spear was the same one gifted to Russ, and is now know as the Wolf Spear! Importantly it was only when Russ gave his speech and left Fenris for the final time did Valdor pack up and leave. There is a much bigger plan than we are aware of at the moment.
