Great review! I think you are right about intuition liners. In my experience, unless you are sending airs and pumping bowls or just enjoy that small bit of extra feel/control/support out of your skates you really don't need intuition liners. I have actually been skating my M12s with the stock liners recently and I think I enjoy those more for grinding since they are less supportive, allowing me to bend more. I feel a street skate like the 909 seems a bit odd to force an expensive liner with it when most bladers grinding with it won't utilize the liner to it max potential.

Agreed. Different feet and use cases. Some people probably (obviously) love the combination. Just not for me.

I’m also using the M size liners and encountered the same problems with the toes. Just half a centimetre. Finally it did not break in and I molded the tows with a hairdryer and a piece of rounded wood. This treatment helped a lot and now they are comfortable in the toe area.

In the ski boot world we use a “lift the heel, pull the toes” idea. So removing the heel lift will probably put you closer to the front. Obviously it’s personal but that’s generally my experience. Although I will say that that shock absorber has a ton of slant to it so I’m curious if your original thought was true! Let me know!

I can concur that this is true. I skated mine without the heel pad and experienced arch pain and a lot of movement in the boot. That was all solved with the heel pad. Even had more space for my toes. Once i saw how the liners sit in the DB skate you realize the heel pad is necessary for a proper fit.

Those 909s look sick. Just picked up a pair of the Razors Henderson skates and looking to put some 50/50 wheels on there. If you have any more of those helmets I would really appreciate one. Just hit 37 and haven’t skated in 20 years, just hoping I don’t die

Your back farvs are always so steezy. That bridge mounting system really is genius isn't it? I gotta say I prefer the "finger" design of the 908 more though for functionality. I hope they keep the 908 in production, maybe add the new cuff to it though.

need some help because i have no blader friends - im on the fence of getting them 909s with intuition liners or waiting for the new usd shadows, currently im rocking the trimax shadow boot with oysi mediums but wondering if im missing out on hard boot riding. but anyways wanted to say i really appreciate this channel as i just got back into blading at age 30 and it inspires me to get to the local parks again!

What sorta skating do you do? If it’s mostly grinds you should stick with your Shadow. If you want to do more transition and urban style stuff, get the 909

So for me the the Mediums fit but slightly large. I'm on the smaller side of a 9. I did as of yesterday go over to the Them Skates try on the Small with my Medium Intuition Liner and they seemed to fit okay. This is without a frame just in store. So Im getting a standard pair of the 909 Small white that are to be released soon. Going with the Oysi Medium small (257mm) frame and hope this makes it a comfy and on point fit. I currently ride Sola frames but I'm going Oysi for the smaller pair. Hope this all works out for me. Overall the 9-10 skates fit but I have to tie down the laces a bit for them to be okay. More skating needed to really see if the medium works. I will be trying out both sizes to see what I go with in the future with any pairs of Them Skates.

You could try getting a very thin yoga Matt cutting it to fit the boot to act as A shock absorber. Other then that further down the road and last resort just toe cut the liners

My two cents, take the liner to a tailor or cobbler. You said the intuition liner was an added expenses, and I’ve done the math. If you buy the liner included your only paying 120 for them rather than 220 for them alone.

What about trying two inner soles , one between the liner and the boot and other inside the liner , it could provide more shock absortion . keep up the good work and content that you provide .

Awesome review. But I'm so glad I got my standard omni's instead. It was a tight race but now I own two pairs of omni's and standard is my new chosen company for all my skating gear. Them 909s are a big company only cuz of their marketing. They r great skates but they have some hidden issues that I don't think are being talked about enough. And they have some odd lines on the boots. The pink ones are hot the bacemints but at 550$ ur getting into carbon territory. Grant it their a full set up not boot only but they cuda shaved a hundred $ off the pinks. Them is about money more and not personable. I own Alot of skates and I guess standard the company just won me over. Be careful who u buy from. Do they as a company have ur best interest in mind.? Do they care? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves so the right folks get paid.

Make sure to also tell people that the 909s medium and up hate small frames , anything that’s 240ish it won’t fit. My 50/50 medium frames won’t fit them , my gc 240 4x80MM won’t fit . They’re a good boot except for that limitation

When I put on my 50/50 frames medium , the frames would lean too much to the left or right and there’s a slight curve in it , same with my ground control ones , (but my large featherlites3s fit fine ) And I think it’s because the medium and up frame spot on the soul plate just only likes larger frames . Have you ever punched out a skate boot like how they do with ski boots? I’m thinking of doing that with my powerslide NEXT 90s. The response is amazing, but the boots are way narrow and my toes are cramped. I don’t skate them with the insole, so yeah I feel your pain with the intuition insole/liner!
