I first saw his name on Jason Falkner's (another criminally underrated artist) album back in the 90s, and then the work he did with QOTSA. When you look up all the artists and projects he's been a part of, holy heck, the dude has been involved with a wildly impressive list. Alain has been influencing and guiding so much of the music I'm inspired by all this time and I didn't even know it. Amazing.

I think we get a new TCV album, then Josh will get back to QOTSA. Not sure about FF. I think they more time (another year) to really consider if they are at the end of the road or not. Dave has enough friends to start a new musical journey (solo), but could also see him handle the drumming on the FF albums and they use a touring drummer. As a fan of all 3 bands, they owe us nothing more, so I support the guys no matter what they decide.

Watching Dave Grohl watching John Paul Jones on piano at the end of Daffodils is very touching. Dave's a huge music historian. He knows he was watching the same guy who played keyboard on No Quarter by Led Zeppelin. It's a mind warp when you think about what's happening at the end of Daffodils. For at least 5 minutes JPJ is pumping out some of the most hard core bass in the history of rock music, and then he finishes with such a beautiful piece on piano.

According to Wikipedia (so do take this with a grain of salt) apparently Jimmy Page reckons he was very close to being a part of this band. I can believe that to be true given that Page and JPJ played at a Foos show at Wembley roughly 2 years earlier, so clearly they all knew each other. However, I can't imagine Page fitting in with Josh Homme's songwriting all that well. To my ear at least, these songs are definitely Josh Homme songs and that means Jimmy Page would have had to play the role of backing guitarist.

Experts make what they do seem easy. They make me feel like I could be on that stage, despite me not playing an instrument. They are far beyond experts. Each of the 4 (Alain is vastly underrated, and also not Kyle Gass’ long lost twin) is a master. I would have given body parts to see that show. The band, the venue… it really gets no better. Hot damn!

Awesome. These guys are just awesome. I really hope they do another album. JPJ keeps himself in good shape, but I don't know how much he's got left in him. I am truly jealous of any you bastards who got to see these guys play live.

a pessoa que fica ali colocando e tirando o mic do Dave tem a melhor profissão do mundo. assistir o cara tocar batera e cantar a noite inteira.

Josh homme is the genius of this generation , following close on the heels of mike patton. It's difficult to imagine anyone could write anything better than queens of the stone age . But here it is

I've been at or seen many concerts. This is the best (or beast!). They had magic and left it for individual projects. Sad for the fans who love energy and creativity.

Oh. My. God. Just that. Oh. My God. How freaking awesome and overwhelming and wonderful and amazing and............ My only tiny complaint is for the videographers. I wish they had synced the audio and video so that every camera was locked in to Dave's drum strikes. Everything would automatically be timed correctly between audio and video for the instruments and vocals that way. Simple, yet I'm quite surprised to notice how badly off the audio is with Dave's drum strikes on so many camera angles.

One of the better Scumbag jams, albeit a tad lengthy. Shame about the mix, as per, it's like JPJ isn't even there.
