They lied about diesel a few years back about them being better for the environment than petrol so l brought one, only to be told a couple of years later that the particulates from the exhaust were worse than petrol. He and many others got in when the govt was offering zero tax, plus other incentives. And now, they have been told the gig is up and that they will be taxed just as the rest of us are. This guy does nothing but moan, and you lot are drawn in by it. If you say something often enough, your words will stick. And that's what he has been doing. He could have bought a far cheaper car but chose to buy a porsche. A replacement battery for his car is almost twice that of another leading EV car brand. The car itself was a minimum 30 grand more expensive, but so what! And then he moans and moans and moans about how much he has lost it the last 3 years (or however long he's had the car). But moaning because you are going to have to pay road tax, BIG DEAL!!!

I used to work for Nissan and many times visited the factory at Sunderland, as most will know, the first real mass produced car, certainly in the UK, was the Nissan Leaf which when they first built them cost Nissan £100,000 each to build and they were sold at an over priced £30,000 and didn't sell in great numbers because of the original price. The government was and still is insisting the UK manufacturers with mass production make a percentage of EV cars against the amount of petrol & diesel cars they make

I'm disabled and use the Motabillity scheme. Usually there is a choice of vehicles that you can rent some the have £2500 non refundable deposit. When it came time for me to change my vehicle more and more of the cars had this deposit on them which I cant afford. However The brand new electric Nissan Leaf came with a homecharger + installation and a "Gift" of £1500. So i went for it. Now as long as you not doing alot of miles per week and you use it for school/shopping runs and you charge at home during off peak hours £7.50 to fully charge then its perfect BUT you go outside of those bounds then your F'd. It costs £20 to use a fast charge to get 80% and you'll need to stop upto 3 times if going from north to south Wales.

Really only works if the battery chemistry structure doesn't require liquid cooling. Some of the newer substrates can do this.

Because Elon Musk wanted all the EV pie for himself via Tesla and thought that Tesla would set the standard by first cornering the EV market and then make a bundle through licensing deals with other car companies to use Tesla's charging design. That evil scheme did not pan out and now the EV market is full of competing plug-in standards. In the end, if EV cars survive, all will eventually have to choose one common standard. Look at the computer communication bus wars for comparison.

The top 10 selling cars in Australia are Diesel and Petrol. Telsa are 25% down on last year and are now discounting model 3 and Y by $3000. Toyota and Ford are up 30% on 2023. HEVs out sell BEVs by 2 to 1. Now. The bubble has burst. . A mate bought a MG4 last years for over $40k, you can now buy one for $27990 on road. Diesel sales are up 10% year on year. People that wanted an EV have now got one. The other 90% of us don’t want them. Personally I see a use for small EV city run abouts for under $25k.

I will pay for YT Premium when i can have proper debate and no censoring of subjects such as vaccines, pandemics, lockdowns, climate crisis, manufactured wars, chemtrails, woke, and net zero. Until then i will skip through their adverts and get what comments in i can.

Ive heard that from next year to match the eu rules that diesel vehicles will be required to drive on the right hand side of the road .Following that the year after petrol vehicles will follow suit .😅
