Tbh, I hate when all these positional super-GMs suggest "ideas" that really accomplish nothing but they present them as borderline tactical finds. Naka, as much as I love him, does that a lot, I've noticed. I feel like that's what Jordan has done here. He suggested "ideas" that pretty much just put pieces on nice squares but did nothing concrete, and Magnus nicely refuted that charade.

@@erasify4040 you're confused. Vishy Anand is the other guy Peter Heine Nielsen referred to. This footage is pretty old (preparation for Carlsen-Nepo), long before participants of the candidates 2022 were even known.

It isn't some abstract entity, bombay just clarified that 'other guy' was Vishy. You have to remember this video was filmed prior to Nepo vs Carlsen, it has nothing to do with the current Candidates Tournament.

unimainable. The ability to play chess games blindfolded with a computer, just telling you the words, or in case sitting backwards to a chessboard just for itself is just insame. But it never came to my mind, that if the person does that as well, you can actually play chess with your friend at campfire without having a chessboard. The Chessers Brain is awesome

I tried it a few times. First I trained it with my girlfriend. It worked surprisingly well. Its ok in a quiet room with no distractions. But when i tried to show it off to friends i got completly destroyed. completly forgot about some pieces. it wasnt pretty.

Challenge yourself. Try playing a game in your head once a day for 3 weeks. I'm not saying you'll be ready to play in the Candidates, but you might just surprise yourself. A lot of the things people think are beyond them are simply because they haven't tried hard enough.

sadly 99.99% of people cannot comprehend how much work goes into preparing for an opponent (let alone a world title match). Us 2200+ plebs spend hours in the very same way, but we are no where near this good or have this kind of work force helping us. Its a crazy world we live in as chess professionals or wannabe chess professionals! Ultimately I would like to say it is fun though... but sometimes I wonder... sometimes you lose and its just agony!!! Good luck to anyone and everyone who is busy prepping :)
