Your actually on the right track, but you don't need a shop. Just a multimax, hammer and pry bar. Plus a cheap new door off Craig's list. However nowadays you're going to need a wifi hammer that will over load the entire block.

TIP! IT WORKED! I always keep a spare back door key buried in the back yard. When I got locked out I dug up the rear door key in the back, let myself in, then went down to my basement. Then, in a matter of an hour or so, I made the tool. After going to the front door with my tool, about an hour later I was able to get in. (Then I put the “tool” under the front door mat if it happened again). A real time saver.

You can impression the blank in the lock, the pins will scrape their position on the blank, but either way, that isn't a method you can use without preparation. Usually you'd just have a key ring with all sorts of bump keys and then find one that fits the lock.

You can't bump them yet (only a question of time tho untill somebody is bored enough to figure it out) but you can rake them. But yeah, the locks shown in this video are the easiest of the easy for pick by any method. *Some* of them even will open with an air pressure can you use to clean your computer with 😂😂 Tho i found that the cans you use to clean your drain with work better and more often ;)

Yeah you can totally get bump keys that work for a large amount of dimple locks (the horizontal keyway type of locks you're describing). - But you can't bump the locks that have a combination of pins and sliders, (another set of moving parts within the lock which also need to be set to their correct position and are separate to the main pins). There may be 4 sliders that need to be in the correct position as well as the pins in their correct position for the lock to open). - And you can't bump the dimple locks that are "pin-in-pin" - meaning each of the 5 or 6 pins has another "inner" pin within it, which will be cut to be set at a different height to the outer pin... Clever stuff, - it must be tricky for a locksmith to pick and open these high-security locks non-destructively...

Those locks would just snap off, also many modern locks have anti bump features, plus some locks have sidebars so for this reason this won't open all locks in my opinion. Aside from that, not a bad toolmaking video for those who like to pick with there own home made tools.

During demonstration is the test lock upsidedown thus facilitating pin drop. In reality most pins are pushed up away from ground and pins can be aided by springs increasing downwards pressure on pins. Tools will work, requiring skill turning tool as you wiggle the tool.

bumping has been known for a long time. i have a set of bump keys for Kwik set, Schlage, Master and many others.

That's just a bump key. You can make these yourself using any old key, the file off any pocket knife, and about 20 minutes of time. Then fold out a blade hold the knife by the blade, rapping the handle on the back of your new bump key as a makeshift hammer. The only requisite is that they key physically fit into the keyway. The rest, just patience.

Either that, or the bidding might have been that crappy. I've seen 5-pin cylinders that would open with the plain backside of a pick. Bad tolerances also add to the problem. But we never saw the key for that second lock.

Si la porte est fermée, impossible, comment voulez-vous sortir le cylindre pour avoir le positionnement exact de l’axe des douilles donc très nul. Sur Zeiss Ikon encore moins possible, c’est extrêmement précis. Quand ou crochetage sur cylindre standard, les cambrioleurs cassent les cylindres, ils n’ont pas le temps de crocheter.

Thats about 60 years old its just a bump key and a rake. And definitely not all locks some And wd40 is a no no it glugs up your pin when the graphite powder get wet with wd40 once it drys up the lock is gluged up has to be pulled right apart and cleaned so your pins dont stick

No it doesn't. Thieves lack both the passion and discipline to become lockpicks. Let alone the cranial capassity. Rocks and crow bars are easier to handle so they stick with those.

I've forgotten the combination to my trigger lock. Is there a way to open it without grinding it off and damaging my hunting rifle?

There is.. its a very old post you either found the answer or broke the lock but just in case i'll answer. Keep in mind there are a lot of lock types and some of the ways may not work depending on the lock. From easiest to hardest: First try to see if you can see beneath the numbers. Some combination locks will have a bump or different color part when you are rolling the numbers. For example you may notice a red stripe in a black background. Thats a guide. You simply keep in mind where the number align with the stripe. Some locks open when you get the strips in line some others opposite side (heard about upside , downside ones but didn't see them) Second is by hearing. You slowly round up or down a number and you may hear a different sound. Thats the number you want. Depending on lock it may be one number up or down. If its actually a good lock chances are you won't hear a noise or may need a hearing aid. Third is brute forcing... you simply try the numbers.. takes a long time potentially.. Used all above methods to open a dead relatives combination locks. wanted to preserve things as much as possible but it has been some time i'm sure new locks are out that may have other tricks.

Which trigger lock? What is the actual key mechanism? A key, a combination lock or what? If its a combination lock you can use a feeler. Look up feeler for combination locks on youtube. If its a key lock you can use bumping but those almost allways open with raking (look that up, its the last key he made in this video) as well as they are super bad locks. And so on ... The "art" is merley to know what you are dealing with and the practice to learn it.
