Nicely crafted deck. Although personally I have given up on commanders that tell everyone in advance what you're about to do. The people I play with you'd probably end up winning games by copying some big creature on the board, then kill people with copies of that (ever used a kicked Rite of Replication on your opponent's Craterhoof Behemoth? ;) ), because they'll hardly ever let you keep Etrata on the board long enough to swing with her.

@@muffZor89 It's a commander deck. You can't splash for colours unless you change commander which would defeat the purpose of building an Etrata deck.

I’m looking at building Etrata with some of the gifts she got recently. Mari, Killing Quill and Ravensloft Adventurer give some easy hit counters and Ramses, Assassin Lord straight up ends the game if you kill someone with Etrata. Mirror Box, Lithoform Engine and Sakashima of a Thousands Faces are great additions/backups to key combo pieces too

Olivia's version is over 400 $ as well, this version is dirt cheap. but she played all the shapeshifters, some are pretty expensive, like Shakashima's Student, its like 26-27 $

Etrata is one of my win-cons for my Yuriko deck and it's similar to your deck list (lots of clones and flickering triggers). Its pretty hilarious seeing copies of Etrata and Yuriko and just wipe everyone out lol.

Wedge, I spotted a 1 mana instant speed flicker spell in your list, have you considered Isochron Scepter for your 2 CMC or less instants?

Depends on how fast your usual opponents tend to react to stuff. Scepter makes your 1 mana spell a four mana spell, and how sure are you that you get to fire off the scepter more than once? If your answer to that is: "pretty often, because my playgroup doesn't play artifact removal", then go with the scepter.

I built my Etrata as an assassin theme/tribal. Not always winning with hit counters but controlling the board with constant spot removal.

I have been thinking about building a deck around Etrata ever since she was spoiled. Loving this. I'm probably going to go a different route than mirror gallery and copy effects, since I already have a similar idea with Okaun/Zndrsplt and copying them and Krark's Thumb

My version of the deck also runs Voltaic Key. Attack with Etrata, strionic resonator the trigger, respond with voltaic key, untap strionic resonator, copy the etrata trigger again, exile 3 creatures and kill a player stone dead in one combat step. :P

So on this public forum, I'm currently engaged in, everyone is telling me that Conjurers closet doesn't work with Etrada because she goes to the command zone at the end of your combat phase? Does Conjurers Closet actually let you exile her and bring her back without having to return her to the command zone?

i know this is a few years old but Why the greaves? the you can't target her with any blink. that stops most of the blink package. if anything switch that out with the cloak yo.

To get around opponents not playing creatures you can use things like Gilded Drake - steal their best creature/token and give them an Etrata target? True this only works once but...lols. Also Sculpting Steel can be amazing in this deck. Have it copy Strionic for 1 turn kill, Blade of selves for multi strike everyone, etc.

It doesn't work. When the drake gets exiled you own it, not them. Best way to get around it is to animate their artifacts with tezz agent off bolas or karn silver golem type effects. She only exiles creatures but cares about CARDS in exile.

Sweet deck. It could use a couple of extra win conditions though. I know quite a few people that have decks with less than 3 creatures in them and lots of answers.

Well Wedge....I made it.....and boy howdy does this deck make your opponent suuuuuper salty. Played my little brother in a 1v1 against his Shanna, Sissay's Legacy token deck. After nearly losing to Etrata's insta lose ability in the first game, he switched strategies to just play tokens. Let me tell you, Launch the Fleet with a Divine Visitation on the field is a scary situation. Luckily he tried to get rid of my Resonator with a Rec Sage and I was able to clone that to get rid of the Visitation. TL;DR this deck is broken and I think I don't even feel bad for playing with it in my 6 person playgroup that has a Niv Mizzet Parun Storm deck, Krenko mono red deck, Tetsuko deck, Scorpion God Zombie deck, and the aforementioned Shanna token deck. Cannot express enough gratitude for the tips and additions because I was gunna make a deck with her before I saw this video anyway.

Looks good and cheap. Some of the expensive cards are extremely good but i think you can do it without them, dont think the deck will lose that much power. I have another card that might be worth it in this deck, Erratic Portal. No idea if it cost a lot but i know i have 1 around so

One question, how does conjurer closet work with Etrata? Her trigger i think needs to be deal with as soon she hit an oponent and exile a creature. Conjurer's closet is at the end of step, so it does not work right? I imagine the closet is there because the deck is basically full of ETB effects

actually, for etrata, like elenda you have to let elenda go to the graveyard for her ability to trigger. so with etrata you NEED to let her shuffle away for her trigger to even happed.

Wedge, I built and played my own version of this deck and attempted to flicker etrata, but was told that because the card text has no spacing you cannot flicker in response to the trigger. Have you had this problem? How do you get around her trigger?

When a card refers to itself by name it basically means "this card". Sakashima would be unblockable if she copied Etrata.

Yes Sakahima copies Etrata but it copies everything on the card. Power/tough and cmc even. That's what most clones do.

i have an interesting question: i tried this deck in Arena, and "shuffle Etrata in library" trigger can't be responsed or prevented, so after exiling opponent's creature with Hit counter, Etrata is immediately shuffled in library. Is that Arena's problem or Etrata's ability can't be prevented by MTG rules?

Would Aether Vial be a valid choice for this Deck? I have one lying around and think that even without the transmute and ninjutsu creatures there are enough 4 cmc creatures in the deck and converting them to instant speed is never a bad idea or am I wrong? Edit: There are 14 creatures with cmc 4 two of them are used for there ninjutsu/transmute so we are left with 12. One of these 12 is Etrata and if we ninjutsu her it would work. Or am i wrong and oversee some major flaw in my plan?

I made a standard deck built around getting etrata in the graveyard and then using the new lazav to become etrata and then transform when he would be shuffled

He'd still get shuffled cause him morphing wouldnt remove the ability from the stack and he'd still be linked to the ability as a legal recipient of the effect. He's still the exact same legal permanent cause he never left the board or gained anything that would make him an illegal permanent for the ability while remaining on the board.
