Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks...

When Aswath answered your question on today's youth, he mentioned they are getting the news online, on social media, etc. He asked who watches the 6:30 news anymore, and he answered probably the same people still using flip phones. LOL the man has a dry sense of humor which I like. My 97-year-old mother watches the 6:30 and by the way, has a flip phone, but we upgraded her last month.

Having NVDA and PLTR are smart additions in my opinion. it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals. Also partnering with a fiduciary advisor can help streamline your strategy.
@AddilynTuffin15 сағат бұрын
De-risk your portfolios, shore up your core holdings, and take some profits while balancing your portfolio allocations. I’d also suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my wife and I. It's been 6 years now and we've made over 88% capital growth minus dividends.

Le Asswath, when you buy matters more than what you buy. If everyone had the benefit of hindsight, then Meg Faber show would not exist. You are making an argument for market timing which *everyone* tells you should not do. Therefore most investors when get FOMO and buy and "cost average" as stocks move higher and then when stock tanks, life / shit happens and they sell. THEN you blame the investor because one is supposed to do "long term investing". All you are doing is making people poorer using hindsight to perpetuate FOMO. Thanks a lot. NOT.

@@Blastmaster-ej5kwPerhaps there's a bit of FOMO here? I know it triggers a bit of that for me anyway. When I saw the title (besides being very familiar with Dr A.) it pulls on the string of "Ahh I knew this or that back when I bought Mag1-7, I should have bought more then, held longer, and not sold all or half (or whatever) too soon when I really thought they couldn't go higher. Hmm Maybe this vid will give me an idea how I can get back in, even at these high prices?" But the takeaway should be something you can apply to any evaluation of a company and thus its stock. Side note: I'm no META fan but in Oct 2022 I also thought the Metaverse fiasco was overblown and misunderstood. Bought just under $100. One of my best buys based on fundamentals. Conversely, one of my worst sells and opportunity cost mistakes afterwards! Had a target of $210-220. Around April 2023, it broke $200, lost some momentum and hit resistance at $221, and as far as I was concerned, the next couple of down days were a reversal. Felt like an expert! I promptly sold position ~$210. Thought it was the perfect trade. Nice clean 100%+ return in less than a year..... And then... the market kicked me in the teeth to remind me to sit back down, I don't know shht. It made a local bottom at ~$205 just days after I sold. Ofc didn't know it was a bottom- figured it was headed lower right into my hands to buy back in. NOPE. It gapped up to $240 the next day! Ok ok I'll wait for a pullback. And that pullback never came (not until ~$325. "Too expensive, no way am I buying here!". Famous last words. Kicked myself all the way to $600! Sold for a 2x and gave up the 6x (or 4x relatively). And the reality is, had I held, I would have DEFINITELY sold at $320 ish. And still missed out on the massive run to $600. Have no idea how to decide when the market is being irrational longer than I can stay solvent. My Achilles heel. 🦶🏻
