Two examples were mentioned - in the 1850s rail roads dominated and in 1960s the old magnificent 7 dominated. While in 1960s there was no market meltdown, the interviewee never touched upon what happened in 1850s.

33% of approximately 43 Trillion, is represented by 2% of the respective 500 components. I think that’s the jaw dropper. If I regurgitated it correctly 🤔

Hi Meb. Real Returns in USD is not a real currency. It should be measured in GOLD .. not fiat currencies. this regarding your question at 20min mark. like today. every currency is collapsing vs gold. there is only one common currency, gold.

How do you measure the value of Gold?
@nestorpapachristos925
@nestorpapachristos925 3 күн бұрын
@@Ryan_Tinney gold is just a metal. nothing more. 1 oz today, is the same last year, is the same 100 years ago, or 1000 years ago. it's "value" doesn't change. the only thing that changes is the fiat currency that it's priced ... there is no reason gold should trade at $2700 or $270 except the amount of money in circulation .. gold is just gold. it's constant. but not the USD, or Yen, or Euro.

@@nestorpapachristos925 even if you want to ignore fiat currencies, the demand for gold fluctuates. It goes up when people lose trust in banks and governments. The amount of goods you could buy with an ounce of gold changes all the time. So it's not constant. And measuring things in dollars in so much easier because that's what people actually use to buy things.
